Trump's kids right the convention ship

That's more like it! Watch Donald Trump Jr.'s excellent convention speech

There's been a lot of chatter about who's not speaking at the GOP convention. Party loyalists have spent a lot of time wringing their hands over the fact that a lot of the establishment regulars have chosen to "sit this one out." If last night taught us anything, it's that they're not needed. All you need is a candidate with a few smart kids After a shaky first night, Donald Trump Jr. kicked the convention into high gear with an excellent address.
Focusing on his father's positive points, the speech was precisely what the Trump campaign needs. A set of reasons to vote for Trump rather than simply vote against Hillary. Plus, and this can't be overlooked, it was delivered really, really, well. If you missed it, you should check it out: Now that's more like it. In fact, I'd argue that Trump Jr.'s speech was the most hardline "conservative" thing we've heard at the convention thus far. Also excellent was Donald Trump's daughter, Tiffany. To date, we haven't seen too much of her in the campaign, so this was something of a debut for her. She may have been a bit nervous, but she handled herself with poise and grace. Again, her brief address was filled with positives. You can watch it here:

If you believe the press, Trump's daughter Ivanka is his candidacy's not-so-secret weapon. There's no doubt she's a powerhouse but, after last night, we know that his "familial arsenal" runs deeper than just one woman. To sum up, the 2nd night of Trump's convention righted the ship after a bumpy start, and (in my opinion belatedly) began the process of offering reasons that Trump should be president, rather than just portraying him as the lesser of two evils. Presumably, we'll be seeing a lot more of Mr. Trump's family over the next few months. If last night was any indication, their presence on the campaign trail will do him a world of good.
