We note with great worry the incessant insistency of Robert Mugabe to undermine the democratic processes in Zimbabwe, and condemn unreservedly the myopic and diabolical acts which Mugabe has sought and resorted to in order to make people boycott the forth coming runoff Presidential elections.

Beyond Mugabe’s undignified and inhuman ways of subjecting citizens to threat and death, Mugabe and his cohorts have resorted to arresting of a leader who is contesting the Presidential race against him. This we find it, as usual, oppressive, irresponsible and unbecoming of any praise worthy mention that the SADC leadership may seek to pile upon him as having needed experienced in government. Zimbabweans would rather they do away with the type of experience the world indicate as necessary for the country to move forward in alleged forced union government.. President Morgan Tsvangirai, ever since he returned home to Zimbabwe, has met with tough security measures from the regime, which measures have always had a focus to have him either arrested in order to forestall his campaign, or eliminate him with a view to relieve Mugabe of defeat and embarrassment . We, as a party and people, refuse vehemently to be subjected to these and further abhorrent, barbaric animal farm satires, which of late, appear extended too to the neighborhood of South Africa rather very sadly and unfortunate. As if this were insufficient nonsense to the people of Zimbabwe Morgan Tsvangirai is now subjected to an arrest without specific charges. He is being arrested for campaigning, which Mugabe does through the use of local media, state funds and the military personnel to his advantage; while the MDC is expected to remain passive and quiet. Morgan Tsvangiari is subjected to an in punitive arrest while SADC leadership watches and say and do nothing. Mean while the world expect us Zimbabweans to say thank and we can form a government of national union with someone who does not respect us and has had half of Zimbabwe’s population either die or exiled We call upon the chairman of the UA President Kikwete of Tanzania, the Secretary General of the United Nations Mr Ban Ki- Moon, the world leadership in solidarity with human rights, peace, order and respect for democratic tenets; to call on Robert Mugabe to retire from office, and on his army of hooligans and cabinet of rogues, to obey the people’s voice and accept their will as expressed on 29 March 2008. We lament that Mugabe has been given a blank check to run down Zimbabweans’ will and for him not only to disobey the call from Zimbabwe, by Zimbabweans; but also from all who love peace and democracy to take place in Zimbabwe in order to stop hunger, poverty, inflation and poor governance. Morgan Tsvangirai of the MDC must be released immediately without any condition, in order for the world accepting any runoff elections as run free and fair. The people torture and killing must be stopped immediately. This will not and should not be difficult for the British to take charge and affect order if Mugabe continues to show intransigence against people’s wishes, hopes and aspirations. We are ready and prepared for any battle whose rules are open, unimpaired and acceptable under international Convention if Mugabe abuses our constitutional rights for his own personal benefits without world condemnation to stop immediately. Release Morgan Tsvangirai and subject all Presidential candidates to the same laws, same media and publicity networks, not to select an open and negative discrimination policy in order to disadvantage the MDC. These are temporary victories for Mugabe least he has forgotten the battles Zimbabweans waged against oppression twenty eight years ago and ignore the resolve with which he was beaten in the 29 March 2008 despite his ill advised behaviour against people’s will. Africa please, speak for once with one voice, in support of the SILENT SUFFERING MAJORITY who sacrificed for the independence which tyrants find cheap to use against them. The region cannot be allowed to degenerate because of one man who has neglected to honour mass commands at a ballot box. We respect our constitution, and we command, as winners of the 29 March 2008 elections that Mugabe should release Morgan Tsvangirai without conditions. Released by the Office of: MDC Chief Representative-Canada (06/04/08 ON Toronto) 905 492 0490 (Andrew M Manyevere)
