Galileo may have sighted signs of love in the constellations, ..... if planet earth had more of it, we could all dispense with the united nations. Da Vinci's feeling on love and art may have been hidden in a code, ..... Shakespeare referred to love in almost every ode. great love stories and lovers like romeo and Juliet set in Verona, Italy, never grow old.

Abe Lincoln wrote the Gettysburg address, ......but his views on love is still anybody's guess.Napoleon may have romanced a lover or two, but he lost the battle at Waterloo. Sigmund may have made a Freudian "slip" when he noted how lovers sometime fall head over heel, .....oh so much for sex appeal. Renoir, Cezanne and Monet considered art, youth and the pursuit of love quit suited for the "impressionable". Einstein theorized that love was all so very "relative". Newton figured out the "law of gravity" but was at a loss to explain how lovers seem to walk on air, ..... Poets and worldly philosophers find love so undefinable, they just throw their hands up in despair. Oscar Wilde's true love, he did not attempt to hide, .....he was thrown in jail and later died." So this poem, like the phenomenon called love shall be left incomplete, for any coherent and cogent explanation of love is not an easy feat. Joseph P. Martino
