Please. I cannot stomach the incessant blather about “changing the world” any longer.

There are seven billion people on Earth – and a whole bunch of them may not WANT to be changed. (Gasp!) And for any group of self-appointed “saviors” to think they’re going to change them all – or even have the right to - is the ultimate in arrogance. However, American Progressives are determined to do so, and say it’s America’s responsibility to “spread democracy” around the world. They contend that the rest of the world is miserable because they don’t have indoor, heated pools, and Surround-Sound. Further, they tell us that OUR wealth actually belongs to everyone else anyway, because we somehow “stole” it. But if we’ll just give it all back, by providing those goodies other nations lack, they’ll all magically metamorphose into “democracies”, who will live happily ever after, and even learn not to hate America. (No one can explain just HOW those thirteen tiny American colonies managed to steal the wealth of the ENTIRE WORLD – but that’s a topic for another day.) The entire nation-building concept is just so much political bilge water. Our money – which we earned by working for it - just enables corrupt foreign governments to maintain the status quo. So third world countries don't need free hand-outs of cash. They need the Bible, our Constitution – and maybe a little backbone. In His Holy Word, God gave us guidelines by which to live. Our Founders wrote our Constitution based on those guidelines. That Constitution, in turn, secured for our citizens the freedoms that allowed them to invent, manufacture and produce products and services that have improved lives around the world for generations.

In short, our Constitution made American success and excellence possible

In short, our Constitution made American success and excellence possible. Our wealth is just the outward, physical proof that God’s idea works. So if you truly want to “change the world” and improve lives, there’s a quick, cheap and proven method: give ‘em the Foundation. It’s only the “American” Dream because other nations never understood that practicing our nation’s founding principles would bring the same success to ANY nation. So foreign citizens don’t have to pack up and leave homeland, family and friends and travel to America to enjoy the Dream. The Dream can be had right there, in their own country. All it takes is for their own people to understand those Biblical beliefs and principles that form the framework of our Constitution, and to demand and implement that same framework in their own land. There’s no need to pump trillions of American dollars into unstable governments in the hope that it will “buy” a miracle. There’s no need to sacrifice our best in fruitless wars to “prove America cares”. Just ship ‘em copies of the Bible, and the U.S. Constitution - and let them do the rest. It’ll take time; dramatic changes in societies happen over generations, and cannot be hurried. And it’ll be painful, because dictators don’t give up power voluntarily. They have to be defeated, which means some must bleed. But what loving parent wouldn’t, to ensure their child’s freedom? Humans are designed to be productive. When we put our own blood, sweat, tears, years and dollars into something, it means more to us, and we fight harder to keep it. When something is gained without cost, there is no personal investment, so we don't appreciate its value. Progressivism always fails because the Left thinks that giving someone something free will buy the desired result. And that’s why they shamelessly waste taxpayer money - it’s not theirs, so they’re not personally invested. So Progressive Foreign Policy never brings about Peace, Progressive Racial and Immigration policies never “improve” our society, Progressive “wars” on crime, drugs, terror, etc never stop anything, and Progressive Economic policies never enrich our population. In fact, the same holds true for those Americans who no longer support our Republic. It hasn’t cost THEM personally, so they don’t value what they have here. Certainly, we need trade with other countries. However, there’s a difference between “business” and “charity”. Business is about making a profit. Charity can only happen AFTER someone has profited from business. Beyond trade, however, we Americans should tend to our own business of keeping our nation strong, secure and independent, and use our military as intended: for national defense. Let the rest of the world fight their own wars - as long as they don’t threaten us - and build their countries as they choose. If other peoples long for the “American” Dream badly enough, they will build that Dream in their own nation. And because they built it, they’ll work hard to keep it alive and healthy. In fact, they’ll be so busy doing that – and enjoying the resulting prosperity – that they won’t have the time or desire to bother anyone else. And THAT’s the real secret of World Peace. © Diana Clark 2010 Diana Clark is a Christian, grandmother, conservative Constitutionalist, a Vet, from three generations of Vets - and would rather do a good CW two-step than eat.
