Trump goes to dinner without media; wailing about 'lack of transparency' produces comedy gold

Brace yourselves. You're in for a bit of a shock. Last night, President-elect Donald Trump went out to dinner. ...And he didn't notify the press. I know, I know. You're furious. I'll give you a moment to recover.
Brace yourselves. You're in for a bit of a shock. Last night, President-elect Donald Trump went out to dinner. ...And he didn't notify the press. I know, I know. You're furious. I'll give you a moment to recover. Your reaction is, obviously, completely justified. How dare this madman simply "go" to the 21 Club and order a steak? Who does he think he is? Does he not know about the glorious "tradition" whereby the media is privy to the commander in chief's every move? Does this monster not understand that the American people rely upon the press for constant updates regarding the POTUS's whereabouts!? As CBS News broadcaster Steven Portnoy puts it:

We "depend" on this solemn "tradition", don't you see? Does Trump not realize, as CNN anchor Brian Stetler puts it, this isn't how it "works?"
Trump goes to dinner without alerting media. NBC, others, beginning wailing about 'lack of transparency' Seriously. Does the future leader of the free world not understand that ALL mainstream media outlets - particularly NBC News - are deeply concerned with "Transparency?" After holding Obama to a high standard of complete and utter forthrightness over the last eight years, does Trump honestly think they'll suddenly let him get away with keeping secrets? We'd like to congratulate the media, particularly NBC, for really outdoing themselves on this one. We're used to hearing them expose their stupidty, but this is really impressive - particularly after six months where they so gravely overplayed their arrogant hand. After 8 years of refusing to investigate, report, or expose the lies, scandals, and excesses of the Obama administration, they're actually trying to pretend that being left out of a private steak dinner is a grave offense. Honestly, if we were Trump, we'd lock them out of the process too. Why would we want to drag a bunch of lying propagandists to a fine steak dinner after they just spent months colluding with our opponent? They've squadered their integrity, the people's trust, and their audience's respect, yet they have the absolute gall to whine about something this trivial? Ridiculous. The old media is done. Finshied. Kaput. Good riddance. ...And good for Donald Trump. There's no longer any reason to play ball with these hypocrites.
