Turning their backs...

What do NYPD officers think of their mayor? This video will tell you everything you need to know.

Saturday evening Ed Mullins, President of the NYPD Sergeants Benevolent Association, issued a statement containing a harsh message for New York Mayor Bill De Blasio. As the New York Daily News reported:

“Mayor de Blasio, the blood of these two officers is clearly on your hands,” Ed Mullins, president of the sergeants association, said in a statement to his union members Saturday night. “It is your failed policies and actions that enabled this tragedy to occur,” he said. “I only hope and pray that more of these ambushes and executions do not happen again.”
The message was reiterated via the SBA Twitter feed. If that wasn't enough to let you know what the NYPD thinks of its own mayor, the following video has been making the rounds. In it, police officers give an icy welcome to Mayor De Blasio as he enters the Brooklyn hospital where Officers Liu and Ramos were taken after the shooting. ...By silently turning their backs to him as he passes. Patrolman's Benevolent Association President Patrick Lynch echoed the comments, saying that "There's blood on many hands tonight. Those that incited violence on this street under the guise of protest, that tried to tear down what New York City police officers did every day.” "...We tried to warn it must not go on, it cannot be tolerated," Lynch said. "That blood on the hands starts on the steps of city hall in the office of the mayor."
