Established news organizations, with the exception of Fox, licked the boots of BHO

Funeral Dirge for the Main Stream Media?

The greatest reality check for the Old Media (MSM) is yet to come. Complicit in their coronation of Barack Obama during the last presidential campaign--indeed during the first several months of his presidency-- the established news organizations, with the exception of Fox, licked the boots of BHO.

Uninterested in digging into Obama’s lack of experience, lack of family history, and lack of anything substantive, the MSM donned their cheerleader outfits and hoisted pom poms to root for The One who would show America had finally progressed enough to accept a “black” president. The old media’s bias was strengthened by the fear that to question the legitimacy of Barack Obama was not only racist, but downright un-American. In their attempt to be “fair” in covering the rise of the Magic Negro they simply tossed out any last remnants of journalistic principles. It took less than a year for many of the old guard media to return to reality. Parroting the ‘blame Bush’ excuses lasted only so long. The reality of federal government spending America into abysmal debt, the chilling aloofness and non-stop campaigning of Obama far beyond the election, and the dogmatic push for governmental control of many sectors of the economy (let’s just call it what it is-socialism) started to bring back a smattering of journalistic ethic. But it has been too little too late.

The reality of incompetency displayed by our current president can no longer be glazed over by the fairy tale press

The reality of incompetency displayed by our current president can no longer be glazed over by the fairy tale press. The heartbeats of American news pump loud and clear in places the MSM cannot influence. Just look at the number of Americans who have stopped relying on NBC, CBS, ABC, and CNN for their information. While FOX can boast of big ratings, the real influence has moved beyond the TV and onto the internet. Online news sources like CFP and hundreds of others have brought fresh perspectives to what America views as information. Unfiltered by ‘progressive’ journalism, the new media is unafraid to ask questions deemed ‘unsavory’ or ‘non-journalistic’ by the established media. A great example of this change in how Americans are influenced comes from my own experience. I was blessed to be a talk radio host for many years in markets like Atlanta, Nashville, and Toledo. But I could see major changes coming in my chosen medium. As my kids grew up with the Internet I saw them turning away from radio to satisfy their musical hunger. Downloading songs onto MP3’s, not waiting for a radio station to play a favorite, indeed CD players in cars even before the Internet influence signaled a major change for music radio. What happened to music radio is analogous to what has occurred in the MSM. People no longer sit down to the evening newscast in great numbers and watch the likes of Huntley and Brinkley. They don’t have icons like Walter Cronkite wielding vast influence anymore. The newspaper on the doorstep is fading from the American landscape. Americans now gather their news from many other places -- and much of it from online sources. This has allowed information consumers to see the slanted, sanctimonious musing of outlets such as the New York Times and the Washington Post. The Associated Press is now perceived as laughable. Because the old tired media long ago stopped going for the jugular with a sense of journalistic pride, other truth seekers have begun digging deeper to separate fact from fiction, to connect the dots, and to present a side of the news you won’t get from the Old Guard. I have always thought that much truth, as it pertains to politics and our government, is contained in common sense. When politicians say something that flies in the face of common sense-- they are lying to promote a policy which will lead to higher taxes, more oppressive government, more voters sympathetic to their own needs (re-election), in short SOCIALISM. Where Common Sense prevails we experience the exact opposite. Thank God for the freedom of speech and freedom of the press in America. Thank God for the First Amendment! Let’s hope we don’t have to muster the Second Amendment just to protect our right to the First.
