Obama Raises White Flag Over America

imageThere’s a white flag flying over America this morning and it was run up the flagpole by President Barack Obama without the knowledge or permission of the American people. Sporting a Chicago White Sox baseball cap, the Girly on the Mound of yesterday’s baseball opener, went on to toss the bombshell that he will make the world a nuclear weapons free zone. Not only does Obama’s revamping of American nuclear strategy renounce the development of any new nuclear weapons, it overrules the initial position of his own defense secretary Robert Gates.

“Mr. Obama’s strategy is a sharp shift from those of his predecessors and seeks to revamp the nation’s nuclear posture for a new age in which rogue states and terrorist organizations are greater threats than traditional powers like Russia and China.” (New York Times, April 5, 2010).
Like most things Obama, canceling America’s ability to defend itself came without warning. Can there be any surprise that Obama’s announcement for no nukes on American soil--even in self-defense--coincides with the announcement that the leaders of 23 Arab countries have launched an unprecedented clarion call to free the world from nuclear weapons? Facts assert that in Sirt, Libya, the rulers of some 350 million people living in the oil wealthiest and most war-torn regions on Earth, called for a nuclear free world only a few days before Obama called for the same thing. Even among the most naive, can there be any more doubt whose side Barry Soetoro/aka Barack Obama is really on? While ObamaCare focused attention on his postponed trip to Guam and Indonesia, Obama plans to fly to Prague to sign a news arms-control agreement with Russia on Thursday, and next week he will host 47 world leaders in Washington for a summit meeting on nuclear security. “Nuclear security” will be a thing of the past for the USA and Israel in ObamaLand. Playing the artful dodger with reporters when asked whether he shared Israel’s view that a “nuclear capable” Iran was as dangerous as one that actually possessed weapons, he responded: “I’m not going to parse that right now.” The question was not posed during an official press conference but from the comfort of his office as children played on the South Lawn of the White House at a daylong Easter egg roll. Obama is speaking the same language as the Arab leaders, who in their final March 28, 2010, two-day meeting “reaffirmed that all Arab countries that are signatories to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) demand the international community to undertake immediate actions to free the world from nuclear weapons.” “Our expectation is not that there’s just some vague, gauzy statement about us not wanting to see loose nuclear materials,” Obama said. “We anticipate a communique that spells out very clearly, here’s how we’re going to achieve locking down all the nuclear materials over the next four years.” Meanwhile, the white flag may be flying over the White House, but it’s the Stars and Stripes everywhere else in America.
