Stand By and For the Constitution

Today is the 4th of July. Independence Day for Americans. And this year the day’s meaning weighs heavy. Just two-hundred-and-thirty-four years ago – a mere blink in the annals of history – our Founding Fathers and Mothers breathed Life into our Nation:

“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.”
From these few precious lines, an entire Constitution was derived. Yet today’s leaders suggest our rules should be changed; we need new rules that make more sense for these modern times. And this sounds like a death knell. Hence the “Pledge of Renewal.”

Recommitting to the principles of Freedom and Liberty

The Pledge grew straight up like an organic platform from the tea-party grassroots. The Pledge is about acknowledging our failures and remembering where we came from – remembering, “We hold these truths to be self evident...” The Pledge is about honoring the intentions of our Founding Fathers; recommitting to the principles of Freedom and Liberty upon which the United States was built; and electing candidates who are accountable to the same. And herein lies the rub: How are we ever to trust any person or party that fails to acknowledge the role they played in bringing the United States to her knees? Without confession there can be no redemption; without redemption there can be no trust; and without trust we topple. There is so much to say. And words can be such treacherous things... One thing is certain: No matter what happens, the path before us is arduous, but renewing our commitment to the Founding Documents – embracing the vision of our Founders – is the path we must take. This is the great challenge of our age for Americans. So celebrate Independence Day. Stand by and for the Constitution. Read the Pledge of Renewal, and if it resonates with your spirit then add your name to those of thousands who have already signed. Join us in building our voice into a collective shout that cannot be denied: We reject any effort to tear down the Constitution. We reassert our will to self-govern. We pledge to abide by those timeless self-evident truths! Happy Birthday America. May you have many more! PS.
