Your Most Important Race for a Truly Better Florida

Endorsement from CDR Tom Garcia

Some elections are more important than others. This is especially true of one state race in particular.

In South Florida, one candidate said that “our shores are the frontline in defending our nation,” and proposed comprehensive shoreline surveillance. This inexpensive program would have the potential to save many lives. It would also curb illegal immigration, saving our state hundreds of millions every year by getting to the root of the problem. That’s a simple enough program and is supported by leading members of the Intelligence Community. It’s also a major security program that has no privacy concerns attached to it. Yet only one candidate in the nation stood up to propose it. He’s a needed voice and we must make sure that he’s elected. In the county where he’s running, some areas hold no more than a 4% college graduation rate. Yet only one candidate in the entire region saw fit to do anything about it. He wrote a Financial Literacy Course that shows teens the difference that staying in school can make in their lives, in a way that teens can relate to. Moreover, he did this years before becoming a candidate for public office. He’s a former foster parent and an active community leader who helped found business associations and who serves on the boards of community organizations. He’s a special needs advocate and a man who’s proposed real solutions in multiple areas, solutions that are quite simply unmatched. In addition to that, he’s an articulate defender of conservative principles in a way that is simply unmatched anywhere in the state. He’s also a man of action. When the earthquake in Haiti hit, Yomin mobilized a coalition of candidates in a way that is unmatched. He’s also the only candidate to back a 1.35% property tax cap so that government stops exacerbating the foreclosure crisis. His Economic Blueprint, available on his site (click here), is simply unmatched. In District 91 it’s Yomin Postelnik or bust, plain and simple. Commander Tom Garcia is a decorated veteran, a recipient of a presidential medal for his work in saving lives and streamlining costs in the US Navy. He is also an unmatched Republican leader who has served on Republican Party of Florida boards. He is running for US Congress in Florida's 24th District. From the write up of the citation: "Commander Garcia's hands-on leadership style and personal commitment to aviation and shipboard safety have helped save numerous lives and have preserved millions of dollars in war fighting assets."
