We Will Work Twice As Hard to Defeat Her in November as We Did in August

Tea Party Express Prepared to Take on Murkowski (Again) If Necessary

The Tea Party Express is ready to take on defeated Sen. Lisa Murkowski should she decide to launch a write-in campaign in the general election.

"We hope Lisa Murkowski will respect the will of the voters who made a decision to end her career in politics," said Tea Party Express Chairman, Amy Kremer. "Joe Miller is the Republican nominee for U.S. Senate and its time for her to get to work supporting the nominee of her party just as she expected other Republicans to do when she won the nomination six years ago. "If she is unwilling to be a good team member, then she should know that we at the Tea Party Express are prepared to work twice as hard to defeat her in November as we did last month in the primary. Her record of tax-spend-bailout reflects the failed politics of the past. Like many other career politicians she seems to think this seat is some sort of entitlement. It's not, and Alaska voters sent a message: Thanks, but no thanks, Lisa. "Voters wanted change in the return to a constitutional conservatism which is why Joe Miller won and she lost. It's time for her to accept this reality and get to work to defeat Democrat nominee Scott McAdams, who has displayed incredible ignorance on the federal issues that will face Alaska's next U.S. Senator," Kremer concluded. Below is a copy of the news release issued by the Tea Party Express on Tuesday evening after reports surfaced that Murkowski was considering a write-in campaign, and attempted to blame the Tea Party Express for her election defeat in the Republican primary for U.S. Senate: Tea Party Express Responds to Murkowski Smear of Tea Party Group
The Tea Party Express today responded to statements made by Senator Lisa Murkowski in which she indicated she is exploring a write-in candidacy for Senate to split the vote, and then smeared the Tea Party Express as an "extremist group" that had "hijacked" the Republican Party. "Senator Murkowski is a sore loser. Not all the hanging chads in the world can undo the fact that she lost. After thirty-years of having a Murkowski as Senator, Alaskans voted for change. The fact that she dishonors the decision of Alaska's voters shows nothing but contempt for the people of Alaska," said Levi Russell, Communications Director of the Tea Party Express. "It's time for her to start doing the right thing by volunteering to help Joe Miller win this election for the Republican Party in November," Russell said. Russell grew up in Alaska and received his education in the state.
