Steamboat Springs CO--Colonel (ret) Bob McConnell, former candidate for the Third US Congressional District of Colorado has announced his plans to protest against the Federal Reserve Board in DC on November 3, 2010, the date of its next policy meeting. The Board is expected to decide whether to implement "QE2" or the second phase of "Quantitative Easing," infusing the economy with anywhere between 500 billion and 1.5 trillion dollars.

"Monopoly money," McConnell stated, "And this disastrous move will further escalate our crippling deficit and devalue our dollar. But the Fed is completely autonomous. Congress has surrendered authority to regulate or audit its books, but even if they did Congress is in bed with the Federal Reserve Board. The people need to step in." McConnell ran as an insurgent right wing fiscal conservative in rural Colorado where he lost the Republican primary to the party established candidate. Since then he has publicly thrown down the gauntlet with the FEC and more recently the EPA, by seeking to rally ranchers and farmers. But according to McConnell, nothing is more important now than the "unchecked insanity" of the Federal Reserve Board. "I will be there on November 3rd, on the steps of the Fed in DC, at 7am while the nation nurses an election hangover and new representatives start fighting for corner offices. Is it a surprise that the Feds would make a critical policy decision while no one is looking? If we the people don't step in, the Fed will sell us down the river while it creates an oligarchy." "I don't care if I am called some crazy guy on a rampage," notes the retired Airborne Ranger, "My vigilance starts November 3rd and we will be relentless in our protest against Bernanke and Obama's plan to put us further down the path to economic slavery."
