Homosexual activist Frank Kameny says that bestiality is OK

Pro-family crusader looks to PETA to take a stand against bestiality promoter

(Editor’s note: Some Canada Free Press readers may find the subject in this story objectionable.) It seems that just about everyone has weighed in for his or her say now that homosexual activist Frank Kameny says that bestiality is OK if the animal approves. Everyone that is other than the Ingrid Newkirk-led People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA). In Kameny’s books bestiality is termed as “a harmless foible or idiosyncrasy of some people. So as long as the animal doesn’t mind, I don’t mind, and I don’t see why anyone else should.”

Peter LaBarbera, of Americans for Truth About Homosexuality (AFTAH), who wants PETA to live up to the promise in its name, “the ethical treatment of animals”, has e-mailed the animal rights group for its opinion on bestiality being “OK if the animal approves.” “They’re the people who stand for the ethical treatment of animals,” LaBarbera told Canada Free Press in a telephone interview last night. “I am hoping for a response to my e-mail, and hoping that they take a public stand against bestiality.” Kameny, revered by homosexual activists for his role in pressuring the American Psychiatric Association to effectively reclassify homosexuals as normal, was responding to AFTAH’s article reporting on the sale of bestiality videos (and other hardcore pornography) at the recent “Mr. Leather” convention. In his e-mail to Americans for Truth, Kameny, 83 stated:
“Bestiality is not my thing…But it seems to be a harmless foible or idiosyncrasy of some people. So as long as the animal doesn’t mind (and the animal rarely does), I don’t mind, and I don’t see why anyone else should.”
“We have many questions for Kameny, the first being: How precisely does an animal signal his or her “consent” to participate in sex with a human?” said LaBarbera. In his weekend letter to AFTAH, Kameny also stated there is no such thing as “sexual perversion”. “It was the weirdest letter I’ve ever received in my life,” said LaBarbera. LaBarbera believes that many Americans would disagree with Kameny’s description of the Inalienable Right, of the Pursuit of Happiness clause found in the Declaration of Independence. “Absolutely indisputably a central part of the very definition of Americanism is the guarantee, found in the Declaration of Independence, as not merely a Right, but as an Inalienable Right, of the `Pursuit of Happiness’”, Kameny wrote. “If something which someone arbitrarily defines as a `sexual perversion’ provides happiness for consenting adult participation, then its enjoyment is enshrined in basic Americanism.” “So: Let us have more and better enjoyment of more and better sexual perversions, by whatever definition, by more and more consenting adults. We will all be the better off thereby. And that will be Americanism in action,” he said. LaBarbera, who believes that Kameny’s stature as an icon in the gay rights movement makes his statement all the more appalling, points out that it was only last year that Kameny was honored by the Smithsonian for his pressuring psychiatrists to no longer rate homosexuality and other alternative sexual lifestyle choices as out of the ordinary. In addition his “Gay is Good” slogan and his 1965 protest signs are to be displayed at the National Museum of American History. “If bestiality with consenting animals provides happiness to some people, let them pursue their happiness,” Kameny wrote in his letter to AFTAH. Because as of last night he had no reply to his PETA e-mail, LaBarbera asked CFP for help. It’s over to you, Ms. Newkirk. Philip Buble thinks he knows. Buble obtained his 15 minutes of fame back in September 1999 when his father, Frank, then 71, struck him on the head with a crowbar and was charged with attempted murder. It seems the elder Buble, who shared a house with Philip, became sick and tired of seeing son Philip engaging in sex with Lady, the family pooch.
