Isn’t It Just A Little Bit Racist To Blame Racism For Everything?

Today’s Daily Dingleberry Award goes to Bob Shieffer, Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Ed Shultz, and all of the other people who see racism where it doesn’t exist. It must be election time, cuz republicans are racists again. That bastion of objective journalism (suppressed giggle), Bob Shieffer, said the following regarding Donald Trump and President Obama.

Shieffer said: That’s just code for saying he (President Obama) got into law school because he’s black. This is an ugly strain of racism that’s running through this whole thing. We can hope that that kind of comes to an end, too, but we’ll have to see.” My take on it? I am so proud to see a white guy who reads off a teleprompter for a living sticking up for a black guy who reads off a teleprompter for a living, aren't you? Hey, at least the President reads the teleprompter well. I can’t say the same for Shieffer, which is too bad, since he’s been in the business since shortly after dirt was invented. WHOOPI GOLDBERG, of The View said: Being black when you say, "You know this is racist," 9,000 people say, "Oh, no, you're just playing the race card." Well, you know what? I'm playing the damn card now.” Whoopi playing the race card. Imagine that. ED SCHULTZ, of MSNBC said: “This is what the Republican Party stands for though, racism. I think Donald Trump is a racist.” Ed, why are you so afraid of Trump that you have to find racist meanings where none was said or implied to try to nullify him? JOY BEHAR, CO-HOST, "THE VIEW": It's very racist because, in other words, you say he couldn't get into Harvard on his own. He didn't write his book. He can't fathom that a black man could be that smart. That's what's behind this. One of my favorite moments in TV history was when Joy Behar asked Ann Coulter if she’d like to be water boarded. Coulter replied, “Would you like to be aborted?” But, I better not follow that line of thought, or I’ll be accused of disseminating hate speech and being violent as well as being a racist. What a bunch of Dingleberrys. They made those remarks after Trump, at a press conference, said “I heard he was a terrible student, terrible. How does a bad student go to Columbia and then to Harvard? I'm thinking about it, I'm certainly looking into it. Let him show his records." Here are a few thoughts on the matter. Do Shieffer and company not realize that some people did into college because they were black? I mean, after all, wasn’t the whole point of affirmative action to help people of color get into colleges they might not normally get into due to racism, and to get hired jobs that they might not normally get hired for due to racism? Is it racism to admit to the existence of a program designed to fight racism? Is it racist of me to even ask that question? I’m not saying that I believe the President got into and through college due his race, but it isn’t racist to wonder about it, especially since the President has been so adamant about not releasing his records? By the way, The Donald didn’t mention affirmative action, and he has nothing in his past that might indicate he is racist. Any and all references to race are coming from the critics, and not from Trump. I do know that the President is a man who, in his victory speech on June 3rd, 2008 said:
” generations from now, we will be able to look back and tell our children that this was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal; this was the moment when we ended a war and secured our nation and restored our image as the last, best hope on Earth.”
Not exactly a humble man, the President. After President, maybe he should run for Superman. Oh, wait a minute, I read that Superman isn’t a citizen anymore, so maybe that’s not such a good idea. If he had good grades, you’d think someone with an ego like his would be exactly the type of person who would brag about them. So, either he didn’t have good grades, or his courses were of a nature that wouldn’t play well with the electorate. Marxism for fun and Profit 101? Why Capitalism is the Devils Workshop,402? Advanced Whining? Did he write a thesis entitled “How to Blame George Bush for Everything”? Of course, George W. Bush earned a history degree from Yale, and a business degree from Harvard, and nobody questioned his intelligence on a daily basis did they? (Sarcasm intended) He didn’t make a secret of his grades, however. He was average student, with a lot of C’s, with a few B’s and even fewer A’s. Apparently they don’t kick you out of the Ivy League for not having straight A’s. If President Bush can make his academic record known, even though it wasn’t particularly brag worthy, why shouldn’t President Obama be able to do the same? That is not a racist question. He was hired for the job of President without being properly vetted. Now, he is reapplying. We have another chance to vet him, and we shouldn’t shirk our responsibility to do so. I wonder if HR managers of large companies refrain from asking for the same documentation from black applicants as they do for white applicants, for fear of being called racist. My wife is a teacher, and she had to provide transcripts of her grades to get her job. I guess she could have refused to provide them, but that would have knocked her out of being considered for the position. So far as I know, the requirement is the same for applicants of all races. The President has every right to refuse to provide his school records. And we have every right to wonder why, and we certainly have every right to refuse to hire him again. It would have been good to know more about his academic record before he was hired the first time, but his charisma obviated the need for it. It’s not racist to want to avoid electing him again on charisma alone. If Donald Trump is the republican nominee, I’ll vote for him. For that matter, against Obama, I would vote for Donald Duck. Come to think of it, doesn’t Donald Trump’s hair look a little bit like Donald Duck’s beak? I wonder if there is a connection. (Was that joke an example of racism toward ducks? Maybe we should ask Bob Shieffer.) Glen Beck commented on how cool it would be to watch what effects the rotor blades of Marine One would have on Donald Trump’s hair. Me, I think it would be really cool to hear an acceptance speech that begins with the words, “Mr. President, YOU’RE FIRED!!!! That’s the way I see it.
