imageYou gotta' love Floridian Peter Rice's "Dear News Media" message to newspaper Sarah Palin 'hunters' this morning. Rice's letter draws the editors of the once mighty Washington Post up scathingly short. The same could be said of the newspaper-gone-rag, in-the-Obama-tank New York Times. What the Post's "Get Sarah Mission" proves is that even on an even playing field with every comfort at their computer-calloused fingertips, reporters of the mainstream media long ago lost their groove.

Though you can still read them in the "alternative" media, for the mainstream one, the scoop went out with Watergate. 'Weinergate' and 'Palingate' see silly reporters-turned-stenographers doing the bidding of political regimes. Imagine 30--count 'em--'journalists' all on handsome expense accounts returning from the scouring of Alaska as empty handed as headed. On return to the newsroom, they were far more likely promoted rather than fired. Whatever happened to the reporters whose work reflected Chicago author/journalist Finley Peter Dunne's "comforting the afflicted and afflicting the comforted"? Co-opted by Marxist governments, every one. The scoopsters of yore are now the trolls on hard-working right-of-centre Internet news sites. Easy lurking in Cyberspace from air-conditioned offices in Washington and New York. Must be boring for reporters off on 'assignments' following up leads to bring down the enemies of politicians with easy lies and gossip. Where are the reporters--even one--telling editors paid by the government to shove their jobs "where the sun doesn't shine"? Investigating reporting is left to New Zealand and Britain. The only good news of the day is that readership is abandoning the mainstream media in droves, in favor of searching for truth on the Internet. All of the newspapers, publishers and editors of which long lived la dolce vita from revenues in the black are now in the doldrums of the red. Only their lavish towers remain standing over Washington and New York. If poetic justice were real, the ivory towers of the newspaper giants would be turned over as homes for the ever-increasing Obama homeless.

Sarah Palin's Emails & the news media

by Peter Rice Dear News Media: Yesterday the Hue And Cry was made by The Washington Post to search all 24,000 pages of Palin Emails for bombshells to be used against themost hated woman in the USA, Sarah Palin, hated by the elite Left. The Post sought 100 crazed volunteers and within minutes got that and more and more and more truly crazed Palin haters. I noted this Saturday morning the vast amount of space on The Post's politics page just about the release of Palin's Emails, but sadly for The Post,no "major" bombshells were found. More sadly for The Post, it appears that nothing of hate-Palin news value was found. I looked at some of the Palin Emails and one word may summarize them, they were BORING routine government work emails. I noted the mentions that more than 30 "journalists" were sent to Alaska to fetch the emails. I also note the near total lack of interest by The Washington Post and almost all of the rest of the Obama State Media in: 1. Former US Senator John Edwards, his mistress Rielle Hunter, his love child, and his arrangements to pay her close to $1M of hush money. Almost all of the few mentions of the 2004 Democrat vice-presidential candidate John Edwards present him as a victim, rather than as a criminal. 2. The Emails of the Hadley Climatic Research Unit (CRU) at Britain's University of East Anglia about their efforts to suppress release of global warming data, distortions of global warming data, and efforts to silence global warming "deniers" (aka those who question in full or part the global warming dogma of the Left). 3. One tiny mention in The Post of VERY hateful emails she received, but nothing more in The Post or elsewhere. Apparently, vile hateful emails received by Sarah Palin are not news. Peter Rice Sarasota, FL P.S. I suspect that Sarah Palin has received more coverage by the news media than all other USA vice-presidential candidates combined.
