Climbing aboard the right train

Pardon me boys, but isn’t that the Chattanooga Choo Choo track leaving the wrong station? It’s chugging loudly along the track called ‘in fighting’, with Conservatives attacking all Republican presidential candidates and sometimes in the heat of the fray, each other. Meanwhile the toxic freight train with the Big O is heading toward re-election.
“Perry’s a global elitist with ties to radical Islam”; “Romney gave us ‘RommeyCare” and is too slick by half”; “Michele Bachmann is losing ground as is the Tea Party who backs her”; “Newt’s out to lunch”, “If only Sarah Palin or Allen West would toss their hats into the ring.” It’s a given that any of the above would be far better than a Barry Soetoro in the White House. For all of their warts, none of them is sworn to a mission to fundamentally transform America. Just when an embattled America needs them most, conservatives are turning on each other.

Canada Free Press (CFP) columnist William R. Mann, a retired Lt. Colonel, US Army is still sporting the slings and arrows fired at him all for penning a piece entitled Rick Perry: Shaped By Faith. Some of the nasty comments left for him in the CFP comment section trump even the deadly Obamabots in vicious smears. In the comment sections of news sites like CFP the lexicon has gone lewd. Everyone has an opinion and everyone thinks their opinion is the only right one. Thanks to anti-Tea Party, RINO-loving top dogs like Karl Rove, frustration, at an all time high, is leading the chattering classes into intolerance for those whose opinions are different than their own. How Barry Soetoro! “Is the Right becoming as snarky as the Left?” Mann wrote in his Sept. 16 column. “What is wrong with this picture? Have we gone overboard with rampant secularism and “flavor-of-the-day phobia? Are we ashamed of a man who says the same things publicly that we say privately? Can we handle the truth? If the issue is Social Security, States Rights, real job creation, or Faith, apparently not. “Apparently, if the terminology ain’t in the Establishment GOP PC-Lexicon, it ain’t allowed. Bring on the circular firing squad. Bring on the candidacy assassins Dick Morris and Karl “Rovesputin” Rove. Here’s Rick Perry’s crime: failure to genuflect to the Bush Family or seek approval from Rovesputin and Morris before saying anything. By actually embracing his Christian Faith publicly and often, Governor Perry is apparently too scary and extreme to be elected. The Founders are rolling in their graves. Ronald Reagan was treated the same way by the Ford people in 1976 and the Bush people in 1980. Remember? They all refused to accept Reagan as the real deal. The Establishment Left and Right tried to paint him as unelectable and too extreme. “What garbage! Reagan’s two landslide wins should have put notions like that permanently into cold storage within the GOP.” For the insults and smears sent his way, you would have thought Mann had endorsed Obama for re-election. The truth is that it’s more than 13 months away from Nov. 6, 2012; there is no guarantee that all of the presidential candidates have stepped into the ring, and no candidate has yet been given standard bearer status by the easy to criticize, RINO-leaning GOP establishment. But being at each other’s throats is not the place to be. All passion and energies should be focused on the freight train, gung ho for four more years to push the greatest country on earth over the abyss. There is no cause more worthy of our time than the one that will rid the White House of bogus Barry Soetoro. To ‘git ‘er done’ it’s going to take teamwork, patience and resolve. As the song Chattanooga Choo Choo is calling: “All aboard!”
