Canadian Prime Minister Barry Soetoro?

Canada Free Press (CFP) letter writer Owen Benson is aghast that fifty-one percent of Canadians surveyed in a recent poll by the Canadian Press Harris-Decima said they thought Obama was doing at least a good job. “If things don’t work out next year, Obama could always come north:poll” trumpeted the Canadian Press headline in a story about the 51 percent who approve the job Obama is doing. The resounding cheer from Americans would be ear-splitting if Obama were to throw in the towel on America and head north. But Obama coming to Canada is more pipe dream than reality. Other than our natural resources, Obama shows zero interest in the Land of the Maple Leaf.

In his email, Benson wrote in capital letters the poll is “ABSOLUTE PROOF THAT 51% OF CANUCKS ARE BRAIN DEAD SHEEP & LEMMINGS!!!!!!!” The poll is hardly shocking to Canadians whose love affair with the late Lib-left Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau never ended. Ontario, the economic engine of Canada, became one of the have-not provinces, those dependent on Ottawa bailouts under the watch of Liberal Premier Dalton McGuinty. Universally known as the “Tax Man”, and openly called a “Liar”, McGuinty was returned to power for a third straight Ontario Election win on Oct. 7.

‘Progressives’, Mr. Benson, not only abound on both sides of the border, but crawl into the highest places of power. Perhaps progressives of the Canadian variety, are more transparent than American ones. The Communist Party of Canada, our country’s second oldest political party, boasts “90 years as Canada’s Party of Socialism” right from its banner. Obama, on the otherhand, who has publicly denied being a Marxist, works unsolicited but full-time on the “Fundamental Transformation of America”. From a purely conservative perspective, it could be argued that our progressives are better than American ones, if only because no matter how they have been working the political network for 90 years, they have failed to drag Canada into a Socialist State, and as far as is known have never boasted about being able to do so. But what should be far more worrisome than a one-shot Harris-Decima poll is the anti-American sentiment that seems to thrive in Canada. CFP, which recently hired a researcher to glean more information about AdBusters Media Foundation, the non-profit ‘corporation’ behind the recent Occupy Wall Street protests, reported back to home base from Vancouver “the hatred of Americans here is significant”. The hatred of Americans the researcher referenced was a hatred of American people, not the American government. The United States of America is Canada’s Number One trading partner. Like so many other nations, Canada depends on the American dollar. Should the United States fall, Canada will be the first domino to go down behind it. Meanwhile, Canada’s love affair with the man who is bringing America down is self destructive, because without America, there is no free world, including Canada. Canadian ‘progressives’ would be the first to kick and scream with an anti-business Barack Obama as Prime Minister. Without jobs, the stretch between welfare cheques would be as bleak as long Canadian winters. We would suggest, not too tongue in cheek, Mr. Benson, that ruling Canada is not the job Obama aspires to. His technicolour dreams of being ‘King of the World’ more aptly fit the pedigree of a global citizen with no papers to confirm who he really is.
