Walking the longest mile to 2012 on the Trail of Tears

imageMost of the letters that flooded Canada Free Press (CFP) in the aftermath of the US Patriots Union/Veteran Defenders of America 11.11.11. rally were written about the lack of coverage of the rally in the mainstream media. Many who wrote asked where they could find YouTubes taken at the event. JB Williams, who organized the rally, said yesterday he was sorting out the pictures and YouTubes for posting. One email that arrived the day after the rally sent by Pat Barnett “an avid fan and reader of CFP for more than three years” stayed with me during the long drive back to Canada.
Barnett, who is the 9th Great Grandson of Pocahontas and 10th Great Grandson of Powatan, reminded me in the most touching of ways about those who had walked the Trail of Tears when “Warriors were herded like cattle and made to leave the land of their Fathers.” “One of my Great Grandfathers walked the Trail of Tears and it has left a lasting impression on my life. “I see this Government revisiting this horror upon the American people and it breaks my heart,” he wrote. “Those Great Warrior Veterans at yesterday’s rally made my point. How is it that only about 250 brave men and women showed up for this event?

“After much soul searching and prayerful hours, I have come to the conclusion that deep down inside EVERY American that truly loves this Nation is the realization that marches and petitions and proclamations will not stop this. “When that terrible day arrives and we are forced by conscience to defend our beloved Nation, we will encircle them as my ancestors did at Little Big Horn and the Nation will be free again. “Until then we will continue this good fight together. We will ring the Liberty Bell so that sleepy heads will rise from their slumber.” I found solace in these words, not because the rally organizers and the 250 stout souls who gathered at the Washington Monument in blustery winds did not try their best to Restore the Constitutional Republic, but because of the reminder of the abiding love Americans of all ancestry have for their great country. The words in the message also reminded me of the stark contrast between real American patriots and the orchestrated antics of the Occupy Wall Street (OWS) missing from their tents and tarps while the 11.11.11 rally was taking place. Best of all the message drove home the point that the OWS Movement, that has become a living pageant of our tumultuous times, is wholly orchestrated and not spontaneous in character. OWS is not a grassroots of the 99% against the 1%. It is a Communist Party-supported, Barack Obama-endorsed political action movement made available in the USA during a most crucial presidential election year. God only knows what tricks Obama will pull out of his bag to try to destabilize the USA between now and Nov. 6, 2012. But in their long eventful history, American patriots have successfully stood their ground against many enemies in the past. When the time comes for patriots to encircle the White House, they will come as if answering the long ago warning of Paul Revere; seemingly out of nowhere and overnight like the flowers of the farmers’ fields in Spring. When the time comes for Americans to take the stand that counts most for a Free America they won’t have to be called to action by anybody. They will not have to be called to action, they will be there driven by the unending quest that has lived for 235 years in the American patriot heart, the one that’s called “Take Back the Country”.
