Things turn nasty as the Press actually starts asking legitimate questions

Jay Carney embarrasses himself - can’t back up administration sequester claims

We all know the media has, generally, been a bunch of sniveling, groveling, lapdogs for the Obama administration. The White House makes an assertion, and the press corps repeats it as fact. That's how it's supposed to work. Deviate from the plan, and risk raising the admin's ire.

Today, we got a rare glimpse of how badly things go when the media doesn't play ball. Obama and his surrogates have been making a lot of claims regarding the doomsday impact of tomorrow's sequester. Many of them, like pink slips for local teachers, or 90-minute air traffic delays for travelers, have little or no basis in reality. Today, the fourth estate actually decided to challenge White House Press Secretary Jay Carney on the never-ending stream of bogus scare tactics. The best quote may be Carney's arrogant "Oh really, because if you want to provide other examples, I'd take them." ...which was immediately followed by another example. Carney folds like a house of cards and demands that reporters stop bugging him because "I don't have any more for you on it." Instead, the press corps is supposed to end its line of questioning, and get on the phone with local school districts...or something. Here's the video which, even by Carney's already dismal standards, is cringe-worthy.
