MSNBC crosses the line from "liberal" to "creepy and disturbing."

Children don’t belong to parents or families, they belong to the collective

Over at MSNBC the statist zeal runs deep - very deep. That much is obvious. Just how deep it goes has recently been revealed via the following "Lean Forward" commercial.
In it, MSNBC host - and Tulane political science Professor - Melissa Harris-Perry takes aim at the outdated notion that kids belong to their families. "We've always had kind of a private notion of children - 'Your kid is yours and totally your responsibility.'" Harris-Perry laments. “We haven’t had a very collective notion that these are our children.”

As if that wasn't bad enough, she continues. “We have to break through our kind of private idea that kids belong to their parents or kids belong to their families and recognize that kids belong to their communities.” Wow. Even for MSNBC, that's strong stuff. It's worth noting that this isn't just some kind of loopy claim made by one of the deranged their hosts. It's not simply Ed Schultz or Chris Matthews spouting off, only to walk it back later. This is a commercial designed to promote the network and its "Lean Forward" philosophy. This exact ideology fueled Chairman Mao's Chinese Cultural Revolution. It was a cornerstone of the governments of Benito Mussolini, Adolph Hitler, and Joseph Stalin. It was the centerpiece of Hilary Clinton's "It Takes a Village" and, now, it's at the forefront of what is, allegedly, a major American "news" network. Over at MSNBC, "Lean Forward" seems to mean "embrace an ideology that was the foundation for the slaughter of millions." Here's the ad.
