In light of the recent fingering of "Evangelical Christians" as potential terrorists, I thought I'd be wise to try to identify those folks so I could avoid guilt by association. Since I had only a vague idea of what the evangelical believes, where to find them or what, exactly, was their crime, I did some research.

Evangelical Christians, according to the website -Creation Tips- are people who believe in the authority of the Bible, who have had a born-again experience and who talk about their faith. As near as I can tell, these are unashamed Christians. They are confident in their faith. How dastardly can one be? Like many other Christians who are a little less exuberant, Evangelicals also believe in the sanctity of life, they oppose homosexuality and they believe in creationism. But, the Evangelical evangelizes. They try to save souls. How terribly radical of them. Of course, I can now easily see the problem. These folks are confident and unafraid, two traits that pose a threat to the government. We cannot tolerate the expression of such radical beliefs in a free country such as ours. These people must be watched. How much of this nonsense will we tolerate? How much propaganda will we permit? Victoria Vaughn Englewood, Fl.
