Media to Obama: Do whatever you want to the rest of the country, but leave us alone!

Please. Let the Obama Administration lie to the nation about a terrorist attack that killed four Americans, and you have to drag these people kicking and screaming to cover it at all. Let Obama shove a dishonest, ruinous health care bill down our throats and these people applaud. Let Obama pursue anti-growth policies while running up the national debt to dangerous levels, watch as they parrot his blame-Bush talking points. Let Obama try to trash Americans' Second Amendment rights (not to mention the First Amendment rights the media doesn't like), and they give him cover. But as soon as Obama treads on them, hoooo boy. Welcome to the party, media. Then again, know what? Screw you. You don't care in the slightest what Obama does the rest of us. In fact, you're happy to help him do it so long as you enjoy protected status. But this is how it usually goes when malevolent actors team up. It turns out they can't really trust each other either, and now the media are shocked - shocked! - to discover Obama doesn't have any more regard for their rights than he does for those of the rest of us. The Department of Justice intrusion into the AP's news gathering activities is surely unjustified and outrageous, and probably unconstitutional. But it's hard to have any sympathy for the AP when no new organization - save for perhaps the New York Times - has done more to enable his behavior than the AP has. Some of us were shedding light on the truth about Obama's behavior long before the mainstream media could be bothered to care about it because it suddenly affected them, so we don't really need their help now. Hey, AP, sorry Eric Holder looked at your phone records. Next time do your job with a little self-respect and maybe you won't get treated like the chumps you are.
