Restoring truth to the media and setting the record straight

The Truth Lives Over Here, Too, Mr. Beck

Some half a million people read Doug Hagmann’s Friday Canada Free Press (CFP) column, DHS Insider: It’s about to get very ugly. A good thing too because Glenn Beck, who read most of the Hagmann column on his radio show today didn’t seem to know he was reading American investigator/radio talk show host and senior CFP columnist Doug Hagmann. To Beck Hagmann was a “Canadian journalist”, “in a Canadian newspaper”.
Proof of how Beck identified Hagmann and CFP is available at the one hour:13-minute mark of today’s show. Hagmann is, of course, an American with his own radio show, The Hagmann-Hagmann Report and a longtime senior CFP columnist. Beck knows CFP as he has twice mentioned us on his television show. “Glen Beck is a schmuck! This morning he talked about Doug Hagmann's article without making reference either to Doug or to CFP. He vaguely said he read it in a "Canadian newspaper," angry CFP columnist Klaus Rohrich emailed us during the GB radio show.

Unfortunately, Rohrich got that right. We proved that by jumping onto our iPad, logging into our GBTV account, and finding the excerpt our columnist was complaining about. (1:13:05 to 1:17:05). Beck said he sent the Hagmann column to his “global information desk in New York” for verification. It didn’t stop him from reading the column this morning, word for word --without crediting Hagmann or CFP. Beck was rightly worried that “we now have a government threatening execution for people who might be whistleblowers”. Fortunately, he got that right and he could have added that Doug Hagmann, now under active investigation by the NSA, is one of them. A little later in the show, Beck in an advertising promotion for Goldline.com, said:”If you don’t treat people right you can’t stay in business. You have to be good, decent and honorable.” CFP agrees and advises GB to take his own advice. Like so many other smaller, independent news sites, CFP counts on the big guys like Glenn Beck to be fair and credit us if they are going to use our work. We sort of count on “restoring truth to the media and setting the record straight”.
