Never had the privilege of meeting Jack E. Levin, the incredibly talented father of who is to me, the best talk radio show host out there, Mark Levin. Never when I sent for a copy of George Washington: The Crossing signed by both Jack and Mark Levin did I think I would receive a book soaring in inspiration and packaged as a keepsake. That’s what the postman dropped off at Canada Free Press’ (CFP) today and nothing else I’ve ever sent for impressed me quite as much.

Patriotic Americans cherish what Levin Sr. describes as the “profound turning point of the decisive Battle of Trenton and its prelude--General George Washington leading his broken and ailing troops in a fleet of small wooden boats across the ice-encased Delaware River.” Nobody tells and illuminates this historic American story like Jack E. Levin. When he describes the Delaware River on Christmas night 1776, “a torrent of rushing water blocked with large pieces of ice”...”the weather extremely cold, with a biting wind and a driving sleet storm covering everything with a coating of ice”, you are right there watching the daring General George Washington on the epic journey that was to turn the page in the history in America’s hard-won victory over Britain. Jack E. Levin is also the author of the celebrated Abraham Lincoln’s Address Illustrated. Did you know Mr. Levin is an artist whose portrait of Ronald Reagan hangs in the Reagan Library? The words he used to describe the aftermath of the victory at Trenton are some of the most moving I have ever read anywhere: “The Congress, who had fled to Baltimore a few days before Christmas, returned to Philadelphia, defiant of the menacing British. The victory at Trenton turned everything around. Washington had shown a capacity of generalship, his ragtag army had shown a willingness to fight and win, his faith in his troops had been justified, his hopes of winning the war were invigorated and.. THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION WAS NOT GOING TO COLLAPSE.” In a world now being spelled out by the cold of Marxist collectivism gripping America, Levin’s The Crossing reminds us how America has survived the bitter cold of other eras, and that the bitter cold in crossing the Delaware River was only the beginning. In the cold days that inevitably lie ahead, just looking at Jack E. Levin’s beautifully written and exquisitely presented book brings the kind of warmth that comes from hoping for better days ahead; a warmth that reinforces that enduring belief to remain standing strong for America. To me, it’s the same kind of warmth and hope that comes from his passionate son Mark Levin on the radio every weeknight. Jack E. Levin is an American patriot who never gives up, who fathered a true American son who will never give up. In just 10 days, Mark Levin’s book The Liberty Amendments will tell how the America of today can be set free from the tyranny that threatens its survival.
