“It’s alarming that military intervention in internal conflicts in foreign countries has become commonplace for the United States. Is it in America’s long-term interest? I doubt it. Millions around the world increasingly see America not as a model of democracy but as relying solely on brute force, cobbling conditions together under the slogan “you’re either with us or against us.”Millions more see America as a beckoning beacon of hope, in spite of the propaganda spewed by envious world leaders. It should be more alarming that Putin got to speak to Americans right at their kitchen tables and on their porches, courtesy of the New York Times right on the day when almost 3,000 innocents were being remembered on the 12th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. Try doing the same thing in Russia. Putin’s statement, “My working and personal relationship with President Obama is marked by growing trust” is the diametric opposite of millions of Americans who don’t trust Obama and seek to rescue their country from his obsessive “Fundamental Transformation of America” before it’s too late. Given the rah-rah Putin-to-the-rescue comments that follow his op-ed, the freedom and liberty of the West is in big trouble because the lemmings, who buy into Putin’s sincerity will buy into most anything. Having “carefully studied” Obama’s address to Americans on Tuesday, Putin disagrees with the case he made on American exceptionalism when he stated that the United States’ policy is ‘what makes America different. It’s what makes us exceptional’ before going on to mock: “It is extremely dangerous to encourage people to see themselves as exceptional, whatever the motivation.” Obama’s final acknowledgement to American exceptionalism on Tuesday was his first. Like Putin, he normally insults the notion, and has done so lo these past four and a half years, traveling the world to insult the country that pays his salary. Has anyone noticed how much alike Putin and Obama sound when pontificating about the failings of America? When it comes to the United States, global elitists Putin and Obama are the head and tail of the same ideology: one best described as the inevitable march of socialism toward totalitarianism.
