SHUTDOWN!  Whose Fault? Dont Ask Obama, Reid or Boehner

I guarantee if you do ask the three men named above the answers in simplest terms would absolutely be, in the order named above: "The Republicans." "The Republicans." And, "It's a complicated issue but the culprits have to be those who aren't satisfied with lower budgets, less spending and tax cuts; in other words, the Democrats."
Any arguments? Didn't think so. So it's unanimous, as in the case with ANYTHING involving expenditure of tax dollars, the Democrats will say the Republicans are responsible and the Republicans will say the Democrats are responsible. We all know that and yet we never learn anything from it. Pundits of the left wing Mainstream Media, indebted as they are to Barack Obama, could never go against any issue or money measure he favors . They continue to avoid certain truths in the facts and instead make up new and different cock-and-bull tales of support for the Usurper in the White House. Only ONE out of SIX major media news casting entities, ABC, CBS, NBC, MSNBC, CNN and FOX, even comes close to opposing the fairy tales concocted by the left-stream media, and that is Fox News Corporation. Obama and Reid are on Easy Street having so many left wing pundits at their beck and call. That media group cooks up the lies and all they have to do is nod their heads while the broadcasts peal out over the land or even simply state, "See, what did I tell you?" Lies become so easy when the odds are 5 to 1 in your favor.

People not in the "know" continue to offer, as if in opposition, pleas that there are people in all of those so-called left wing media outlets that aren't exactly always in agreement with the talking heads of those networks, as if saying, "There, take that." Well, duh; Fox News Bill O'Reilly and Sheppard Smith are not overwhelmingly in agreement with that network's other talking heads all the time. So bug off, mate. But let's look at a commentator who is highly respected for his exact and deep research of the facts, a proven gentleman who even in disagreement is not one who has to have the last or loudest word. This man, though now in his 80's, is one of the most capable and responsible researchers and communicators in his chosen field in which he is an American economist, social theorist, political philosopher, and author as found at Wikipedia online. His commentary columns on today's major issues can be found online usually on a weekly basis. His most recent, as you might suspect, deals with the latest Obama brouhaha with Congress on the contentious Affordable Care Act or what is known as ObamaCare and primarily the subject on the minds of nearly every person in these United States - 'Who is responsible for the government shutdown'? This is typical of the political scene in this country; don't try to solve the problem, just find out who is responsible for bringing it about and then harp on that in public until both sides have cast their slings and arrows at each other. But there is always one person who gets into the facts and specifically finds out who really is responsible for the ultimate consequence of shutting down our government - in this one, Thomas Sowell stands clearly as that person. As Mr. Sowell explains, "There is really nothing complicated about the facts. The Republican-controlled House of Representatives voted all the money required to keep all government activities going -- except for ObamaCare. "As for the House of Representatives' right to grant or withhold money, that is not a matter of opinion. You can check the Constitution of the United States. All spending bills must originate in the House of Representatives, which means that Congressmen there have a right to decide whether or not they want to spend money on a particular government activity." Sowell makes the point that whatever the merits of ObamaCare happen to be at this stage of the presentation they are irrelevant because factually "the House of Representatives members constitutionally have the right to make spending decisions based solely on their opinion, regardless of whether it is a law. The whole point of having a division of powers within the federal government is that each branch can decide independently what it wants to do or not do, regardless of what the other branches do, when exercising the powers specifically granted to that branch by the Constitution." Now here is where Thomas Sowell answers the question about who REALLY is responsible for shutting down the government: "We do know who had the option to keep the government running and chose not to. The money voted by the House of Representatives covered everything that the government does, except for ObamaCare. "The Senate chose not to vote to authorize that money to be spent, because it did not include money for ObamaCare. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid says that he wants a "clean" bill from the House of Representatives, and some in the media keep repeating the word "clean" like a mantra. But what is unclean about not giving Harry Reid everything he wants? "If Senator Reid and President Obama refuse to accept the money required to run the government, because it leaves out the money they want to run ObamaCare, that is their right. But that is also their responsibility. "You cannot blame other people for not giving you everything you want. And it is a fraud to blame them when you refuse to use the money they did vote, even when it is ample to pay for everything else in the government. "When Barack Obama keeps claiming that it is some new outrage for those who control the money to try to change government policy by granting or withholding money, that is simply a bald-faced lie. You can check the history of other examples of "legislation by appropriation" as it used to be called." Mr. Sowell also paints a different face on other discussions relative to the mountainous public national debt that the Democrats are greatly responsible for as opposed to their statements of blaming Republicans for all financial ills and in danger of default with this: "Tax money keeps coming into the Treasury during the shutdown, and it vastly exceeds the interest that has to be paid on the national debt. Even if the debt ceiling is not lifted, that only means that government is not allowed to run up new debt. But that does not mean that it is unable to pay the interest on existing debt." The ones REALLY responsible for the government shutdown are Obama and Reid and their obsequious liberal Democrat followers. The Republican House of Representatives of Congress offered a budget that paid for EVERYTHING except ObamaCare. The money to keep government operating was there and the Democrats flatly rejected it. No question; the Democrats are responsible for the government shutdown. Hands down.
