US Government, Fabian ideology

Should we worry about the Fabians? Could Obama be a Fabian Socialist?

The early Fabians like most self proclaimed intellectuals, loved symbolism. They chose the tortoise as their emblem, signifying the slow but persistent progression towards their eventual goal.

imageThe stained glass door of the Fabian Society was designed by George Bernard Shaw . On the right pane the world is on an anvil and George Bernard Shaw and Sidney Webb are hitting it with hammers so as to change it! CHANGE does that remind us of somebody? Above the world there is a small pane with the image of a wolf in sheep’s clothing! We ask “are the Fabians just fuzzy headed intellectuals with a sense of superiority over the masses, not educated in the Classics?” After all we have defeated Communism … right? The Soviet Union has gone … yes? Communist China is more Capitalistic that most Western governments … of course! So what have Fabians achieved in the last 100+ years? In my previous article I established that Fabians had many of the same objectives as Marxists, but differed on how to get there! Let’s take a look at what Karl Marx said in 1848 in his Communist Manifesto … and how much of it has been imbedded into our society and it’s correlation with Obama’s views. “Nevertheless in the most advanced countries, the following will be pretty generally applicable.” Communist Manisfesto.

Abolition of property in land and application of all rent of land to public purposes

Example … Eminent Domain Step by step we are moving closer to this! The Kelo case, zoning laws, wetlands regulations, EPA regulations, etc. We no longer control our lands. Our once strong private property rights are being eroded through regulatory edicts, bureaucracy, burdensome taxation and the Courts. What kind of Judges do you think a Fabian President would appoint? Strong protectors of property rights?

A heavy progressive or graduated income tax

Example … Spreading the wealth. (Joe the Plumber!) We already have this in America! With a Fabian in the White House, would it become more progressive? “Obama said one of the tragedies of the Civil Rights Movement was that it lost track of political and community organizing that could bring about "Redistributive Change." (2001 Obama Interview on Chicago Public Radio WBEZ.

Abolition of all right of inheritance

Example … Death Tax Inheritance taxes are already astronomically high. In 2001, estates over $1million are scheduled to be taxed at 55%. So we are already moving steadily in this direction! There is a presumption that this is a tax only on the wealthy. How will this change under a Fabian President?

Confiscation of the property of all emigrants and rebels

Example … Federal and State Revenue Services given authority to seize or put liens on private property and assets of citizens they deem in violation of tax codes. “If the IRS uncovers a tax evader, the agency can seize part of that person's income or property without going through U.S. courts. This gives the agency tremendous power; power that the IRS, as the committee heard, often abuses.” Current Events, a Weekly Reader publication. October 31, 1997. If a person with property in the US objects to his property taxes, would he be considered a REBEL?

Centralization of credit in the hands of the State, by means of a national bank with State capital and an exclusive monopoly

Example … Federal Reserve; Recent bail out of Banks; FDIC. Ironically the Fed is not a government body. It is a privately-owned! With the current financial crisis how long will it be before the Fabians in government take it over?

Centralization of the means of communication and transport in the hands of the State

Example … Public transportation; FCC; Fairness Doctrine. Government has control over much the media via the FCC. Telephone communication is regulated by the government. How long before the Fabians in the government regulate the Internet? The Department of Homeland Security already monitors much of the Internet world traffic! Government already regulates all transportation on land, in the air, and on the waterways, whether it is for private or commercial use."I hope Congress gets to work right away on reestablishing the Fairness Doctrine with the FCC. There needs to be balance on the airwaves again on radio as well as TV and cable." Barack Obama. (draftobama.org)

Extension of factories and instruments of production owned by the State; the bringing into cultivation of waste-lands, and the improvement of the soil generally in accordance with a common plan

Example … Environmental Protection Agency; Department of Interior; Sustainable growth; Social equality with underdeveloped countries. By imposing millions of regulations on every minuscule aspect of business, Fabians in bureaucracy and elected to office are close to achieving control of manufacturing without nationalization!

Equal liability of all to labor. Establishment of Industrial armies, especially for agriculture

Example … Unions. So called industrial armies in modern parlance are known as Unions. The objective now is to do away with the secret ballot in Union elections. Do you think that a Fabian President would veto this proposal?

Combination of Agriculture with manufacturing industries; gradual abolition of the distinction between town and country, by the equitable distribution of population over the country

Example… Not applicable in modern America at this time. But the sustainable development crowd could come up with a few nutty ideas?

Free education for all children in public schools. Abolition of children's factory labor in its present form. Combination of education with industrial production

Example … Public schools. (Pressure to suppress private & home schooling) This is a DONE deal, but there is still pressure to conform further with the 1984 vision of George Orwell (a Fabian!) It’s for you to decide how far the US Government has gone in the direction of Fabian ideology! Could Barack Obama be the Fabian Sheep in Wolf’s clothing? “Above all, we must realize that no arsenal, or no weapon in the arsenals of the world, is so formidable as the will and moral courage of free men and women. It is a weapon our adversaries in today’s world do not have.” Ronald Reagan
