No wonder the left is so disappointed

Barbara Walters thought Obama was 'going to be the next messiah'

It's not surprising to learn that a far left talking head once worshipped Barack Obama with an almost religious fervor. Obama's fanatical support has always appeared faith-based, and there's an idolatry there that is, in a word, creepy. We've watched it play out for years and nothing about it is particularly shocking.
What is unexpected is to hear one of these people - especially a prominent media figure - admit it openly, while simultaneously bemoaning the fact that the President hasn't lived up to the hype. Usually, they just sit there, stubbornly refusing to acknowledge how wrong they were. However, Barbara Walters recently appeared on Piers Morgan Live where she quacked - yes quacked - her way through a cringe worthy interview. During it, she admitted that "we" once viewed Obama as a new messiah, and that he has failed to meet that bar.

Baba Wawa was asked why Obama's approval ratings were in the dumper, and she answered:
“Well, you’ve touched on it to a degree. He made so many promises. We thought that he was going to be – I shouldn’t say this at Christmastime, but – the next messiah. And the whole ObamaCare, or whatever you want to call it, the Affordable Health Act, it just hasn’t worked for him, and he’s stumbled around on it, and people feel very disappointed because they expected more.”
Speak for yourself, Ms. Walters. "We" never thought he was anything more than an empty suit. "You" were the ones who found him so captivating. His impending failure was painfully obvious to anyone who hadn't been hypnotized by his phony, unearned, air of "greatness." As for Ms. Walters' claim that she "shouldn't say this at Christmastime?" She's wrong. She shouldn't say it ever, because it makes her sound like a complete idiot. Baba appears below.
