Just as the 19th century Luddites were opposed to industrial developments, we have 21st century Luddites trying to sabotage further industrial development. These new Luddites describe their detractors as "flat-earthers" when they are the ones promoting policies that would necessitate deindustrialization.
Instead of using cheap and abundant resources to advance civilization further, the Leftist Luddites would have civilization deindustrialize as the overall amount of energy production decreases due to high costs and decreased efficiencies.
As they continue to pursue their “clean energy” agenda, there is anything but consensus that we need to stop using fossil fuels to prevent a global warming holocaust. Ignoring the data that shows industry-caused global warming is not taking place, they then ignore the fact that the development of coal and oil resources was a prime ingredient in producing the modern world we live in and is necessary for it to continue to develop.
Named Counselor to the President in December, John Podesta’s think tank, the Center for American Progress, also released a report that month entitled “The Green Industrial Revolution and the United States.” This report gives a glowing account of how the development of “clean technology” is key to launching us into a new era of societal development.
They describe how spending massive amounts of taxpayer money on new technology for things such as electric cars, wind farms and solar energy is “the source of expanding global markets and of millions of new jobs in a hugely diverse set of industries and occupations, from cutting-edge research to installation of technologies such as rooftop solar panels and utility-scale wind farms.”
Unravel the web of utter corruption called the Obama administration
They fail to mention that their “green revolution” requires the abandonment of the energy sources required to fuel us into this Brave New World of the future.
What a crazy ideological system that rules over us. Instead of putting our efforts into developing cleaner and more efficient use of fossil fuels which are still in abundance in the earth, the federal government tries to force the abandonment of coal energy and oil-based power sources and turn wholly to solar and wind energy.
It doesn't matter that wind power is an extremely inefficient use of resources and solar power would make us ever dependent on China for the precious metals needed for a very expensive technology.
But we can't assume the stated purpose by the controlling Party is ever the real purpose. It is actually is a payoff slush fund for Obama's cronies, as is every spending program the Democrats have put into play. That is why the ObamaCare website rollout was such a fiasco. After three years and billions of dollars the website was not ready for its October 1, 2013 rollout.
And it wasn't until it was up and running that they began to work on the "back end" of the process - getting the info from the enrollees to the insurers. But rest assured, the billions of dollars spent on the website padded the pockets of Obama supporters.
In the decades to come, as we begin to unravel the web of utter corruption called the Obama administration, we will see that this scam of a clean energy future was simply part of a system of paying off cronies and redistributing wealth. After all, in 2012 Barack Obama campaigned on his Presidency being one of revenge (“voting is the best revenge”), in other words, vote for him and he will take wealth from those who earned it and give it to anyone who claims they've been downtrodden by "the man."
