Nancy Pelosi has a 'Republican friend' who told her the GOP doesn't care about starving children

Whether she's telling you that "you have to pass it to find out what's in it," "joblessness is actually freedom from job lock," or "unemployment stimulates the economy," Nancy Pelosi can be counted on for her epic pearls of non-wisdom. If her mouth is moving, you can bet she's going to say something ridiculous.

This weekend she spoke at the California Democrats State Convention, where she dropped a bombshell. She has an anonymous-but-totally-real-and-not-made-up 'Republican friend' who told her that the GOP's membership just can't bring itself to care if American children are starving.
“I asked a Republican friend why his party remains so opposed to extending the vital lifelines for struggling families and really hungry children. This colleague’s response was telling in its blunt nature and it’s stunning in its honestly; what he said was to the Republican caucus, these people you are talking about are invisible, and the Republican caucus is indifferent to them.”
Yep, that's right. Nancy Pelosi thinks you're dumb enough to believe all of the following three things:
  • A: She has a "Republican friend."
  • B: Republicans don't care about starving children, but they keep that a closely-guarded secret
  • C: Her "Republican friend" was dumb enough to reveal this dark truth to one of the most powerful Democrats in the country.
Uh-huh. Sure thing Nancy. We're 100% positive you're telling the truth. Just for the sake of argument, if any of this is true (and we're well aware that it probably isn't) Nancy should reveal her source immediately. That way we can expose these cold-hearted monsters and ostracize them from the party. So far, she's been unwilling to name names. We just can't imagine why. Are there no depths to which Pelosi won't sink? ...And how much do you want to bet that her "Republican friend" is the same nonexistent source who told Harry Reid that Mitt Romney hadn't paid taxes in ten years? Nancy, please name your Republican friend. "We're ready to believe you!"
