Senate Dems all-night Yak-a-Thon on Global Warming, Sleepless in the US
That loud Zzzz to be heard all across the fruited plain today is the loud snoring of Democrats catching up on their 40 winks after pulling Monday’s climate change all-nighter.
While polls show Americans are shouting “Jobs, jobs, jobs!” the Dems are pontificating back at them, “Global warming, global warming, global warming!” While you may have had it “up to here” with global warming in one of the worst winters on record, Senate Democrats conducted an all-night “talkathon” on climate change--all 28 of them with two left-leaning Independents thrown in for good measure. Four Democrats in energy-producing states: Mark Begich of Alaska, Kay Hagan of North Carolina, Mary Landrieu of Louisiana, and Mark Pryor of Arkansas, fighting for political survival, were noticeably MIA. Incredibly, the 30 Sky-is-falling messengers of Dem doom were lined up to speak in shifts, addressing a nonexistent audience until long after sun up. It would seem that Democrats, love flapping their gums in the dark.

But they have learned from their dear leader how playing to the cameras of C-SPAN is a ready-made ego boost. At least they could count on the the sun coming up in America today. In China, the only sun that now rises is a digital one, the real one being completely lost in the smog. In China, you can watch the rising sun on big screen TVs. That’s thanks to UN Poster Boy Maurice Strong, China’s top environment advisor and sidekick of Democrat hero Al Gore. It snowed all over algore this winter but Big Al, comfy in his ocean front villa when not adding to his carbon footprint while globetrotting, didn’t seem to notice. At a recent Senator Democratic fundraiser in the San Francisco home of billionaire Tom Steyer, Gore urged Democrats to make global warming a central midterm election issue, according to the Washington Post. Mr. Steyer’s advocacy group, NextGen Political Action, expects to use $50 million of Steyer’s money and $50 million raised from donors to support candidates fighting global warming. That money will be withheld from Democrats who duck the fight or even oppose it--though it will not be used against them. (csmonitor.com, March 10, 2014) “The last time that Congress seriously attempted to address climate change was in 2009, before the GOP took control in the House. Democrats in that chamber narrowly passed a bill to cap carbon emissions. It never made it through the Senate, and in the end, the effort was thought o have contributed to Democrats’ losses in 2010.” That was before Obama came along to change his Hope & Change election slogan to just plain Climate Change. While Democrats can count on the vote of the young, generations of graduates taught in public school that global warming is for real, Americans who escaped education indoctrination consider global warming only a bottom-of-list priority. According to a January 2014 survey by Pew Research, climate change ranked second-to-last among 20 issues tested, with a rating of 29 percent. Democrat crazies keep warning “global warming is going to kill us”, Americans keep saying, “Read my lips”. It’s jobs, big government and the loss of individual rights that concern us. But because it’s midterm election year it’s time to galvanize the gullible of the Dem built-in Scorched Earth Society. Meanwhile, it’s highly unlikely that many bleary-eyed viewers tortured themselves by tuning in to the Dems talkathon on C-SPAN last night. And those that slept the night away in their own beds likely had the usual ObamaCare nightmares.
