John Kerry's base betrayal of Israel

A Whiff of Perfidy

John Kerry's base betrayal of Israel
The stench of betrayal was evident in the House of Representatives on Thursday, March 13, 2014. Secretary of State, John Kerry, revealed utter appeasement towards the overwhelmingly Muslim Palestinian Authority and a cavalier dismissal of the legitimate rights of Israel: The Jewish state. With his own words, he can now no longer be regarded as an honest broker in the so-called “peace process.”
Kerry spewed words that are a complete betrayal of promises that both he, and his master in the White House, had previously and repeatedly made to Israel that any final “peace agreement” between Israel and the Palestinian Authority would demand and require that Israel be recognized by the PA as a Jewish state. But Kerry reneged on that solemn promise and undertaking by telling a House Committee that it is a “mistake” to insist that the Palestinian Arabs recognize Israel as the Jewish State. President Obama, to whom John Kerry reports, had stated last March, 2013, during a visit to Israel and while standing next to Israeli Prime Minister, Binyamin Netanyahu, that he was urging the Palestinians to recognize the "Jewish state" as part of a peace agreement. He had then said in part:
“But for now, let me just reiterate that a central element of a lasting peace must be a strong and secure Jewish state.”
Some little while before John Kerry mouthed his base betrayal of Israel - America’s most loyal ally - a Palestinian government official had said that Allah would gather the Jews so that Palestinians could slaughter them all. Needless to say, Kerry was mute in the face of that loathsome rant.

John Kerry's base betrayal of Israel

Nor did he have much, if anything, to say in condemnation of the 100 missiles fired a day earlier at Israeli villages and towns by Islamic Jihad and Hamas terrorists from Gaza. Predictably, the Palestinian Authority’s, Mahmoud Abbas, condemned Israel’s retaliation to the rocket fire, accusing Israel of a “military escalation.” He did not, however, condemn the rocket attacks on Israeli civilians. So why is it so fundamental for the Muslim Arab side to finally accept Israel as a Jewish state? And why do they remorselessly refuse to do so? Well, we need to go back to the 1993 Oslo Peace Accords, which posited that both Israel and the Palestinian Arabs would fully recognize the legitimacy of each other. During these 21 wasted years since Oslo, the Palestinians have refused to accept the legitimacy of the national rights of the Jewish people. Indeed over and over again they have resorted to ever more dubious and transparent reasons for evading such a mutually beneficial and historic recognition. The reasons they have given included Israel’s building of homes for Israeli families in suburbs of Jerusalem, Israel’s capital city, and in areas in Judea and Samaria (the biblical and ancestral Jewish heartland, aka, the West Bank). But even Israel’s agreement to freeze building for ten months during 2009/2010 in order to encourage Mahmoud Abbas, the putative President of the Palestinian Authority, to stay at the peace table was all to no avail until U.S. pressure was finally applied to the recalcitrant Arab side. The true reason for the intransigence by Abbas and his henchmen was never about Jewish homes and apartments. It remains their fear of accepting and recognizing a non-Muslim state in what they believe must always remain Islamic territory. Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu told the U.S. Congress, as recently as May, 2013, that the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, “has never been about the establishment of a Palestinian state. It has always been about the existence of the Jewish state.” Perhaps, it is time to rename the Israeli-Palestinian conflict with what it truly is and always has been; The Israel-Islam conflict. It is not about territory. It never has been. It is always about the Islamic refusal to live side by side with any non-Muslim nation state in territory Muslims had previously invaded and conquered through acts of aggression. As I have written many times before in published articles the reality is as follows:
“Wherever the Muslim foot has trod triumphal, that is forever considered by Muslims as Islamic territory and enters the Dar al-Islam (the House of Islam). Wherever and whenever such territory is liberated from Islamic occupation it then enters for Muslims the Dar al-Harb (the House of War) and forever after it becomes incumbent on all Muslims to wage endless and relentless war against it. “Thus for Israel, the Jewish state, even if it withdrew to just one downtown city block in Tel Aviv, it would still be unacceptable to Islam and would be warred against until it was no more. This is the very fundamental reason why there can never be a true and lasting peace with the Muslim world and phrases such as “land for peace’ or the so-called “Two State Solution” are pure insanity.”
Abbas must remain faithful to his Koranic and Islamic strictures. He cannot, therefore, accept Israel as the nation state of the Jewish people for Islamic reasons and the attendant death threats from fellow Muslim jihadists. But even in the highly unlikely chance that he would do so, his life expectancy would be numbered in hours. That, alas, has been the fate of those few in the Arab and Muslim world who have favored true and lasting peace and tried to rise above the legions of Muslim fanatics who have for centuries been, and continue to be, the scourge of Araby. © Victor Sharpe 2014
