ObamaCare: Leaks, chips and pins

Here are three ways to describe ObamaCare without using medical narrative:
First, our health care system had a leak in the roof. You don't blow up the building to fix the leak in roof. Now we have a demolished building and the leak is not fixed. The solution is to start over and build a new building with a free-market foundation, design options for everybody, and no leaks. The taxpayers built the building over several decades, in which more than 80 percent of us were happy with the building, and more than willing to pay for the leak in the roof. ObamaCare destroyed the building in six months, and they and the MSM just don't talk about it. We are supposed to forget about it until after the November 2014 elections. Stay tuned to this site where we will NOT forget!

Second, the Democrats sold us a bag of chips with no chips! When Nancy Pelosi said "they had to pass it and then tell us what's in it", we got an empty bag of chips. To add insult to injury, the Democrats then proclaimed that they were doing us a favor, and that ObamaCare had freed people from being stuck in a job just to keep their health insurance. Never mind some people may no longer have a job. The Democrats consider this a “family value,” (they really said that) because maybe some people don’t want to work anyway. The taxpayers paid for the bag of chips, but the Democrats ate all of the chips for themselves and gave us an empty bag. They then ran a multi-million dollars marketing campaign with our money encouraging every American to sign up for an empty bag of chips. And by the way, it costs more than the bag of chips we already had. Third, ever tried bowling when you can’t see the pins? ObamaCare is like that too. We are bowling and there's a sheet hiding the pins. When we roll the bowling ball, we hear something but we don't know how many pins we knocked down. Obama and the Democrats keep telling us we knocked most of them down, but they won't give us an accurate count, nor let us see for ourselves by removing the sheet. They want us to just keep on bowling and "trust" them. Really! Give us one reason we should! Oh, I know! It's great family time together. The taxpayers paid for us to go bowling. This covered transportation to the facility, the cost of shoes, bowling balls and time on the lanes to see how well we could do at this recreational sport. Well! We have no idea. We hear a lot of noise but we can't see any results. If this continues, we will stop going and the bowling establishment will have to close due to bankruptcy. I wish these metaphors were not true. Sadly, they are true. We were forced into this mess by people who care more about political power and advantage over the people than they do about the best interests of the people. And in 2012, a majority of voters re-elected 88 percent of the members of Congress who did this to us. They also re-elected a president who sees this as his legacy. Or, at least he used to. The bad news is that it will be his legacy, whether we repeal and replace it or not. We can't repair all of the damage that has already been done, but we can mitigate future damage with a new building, let people buy their own chips, and take down that [bleep] sheet at the bowling facility. Coming soon! Planes, trains and automobiles.
