Wasserman Schultz - there's nothing political about the delay in the Keystone pipeline decision

Sunday morning the reality-challenged DNC chairwoman, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, appeared with David Gregory on Meet the Press. There, she was asked about Democrat prospects for 2014, and more specifically, about why the President has delayed making a decision about construction of the Keystone Pipeline. Gregory wondered if maybe - just maybe - politics played some part in Mr. Obama's refusal to make up his mind on the issue.
Schultz reassured Gregory that, if you're the kind of person who thinks this might be about politics, you're just plain wrong. “As a member of Congress who represents hundreds of thousands of people in south Florida, I want to make sure the right decision is arrived at and that the president makes that decision carefully and doesn't factor politics into his decision, which I don’t think he is," Schultz said. She then went on to say that “What's true is the decision over the Keystone pipeline is complex, and it’s one that has to be examined very carefully. It affects multiple states. What's also true is that incumbent senators like Mary Landrieu understand the issues that are important on the ground in their states to their constituents."

See, it's not political. President Obama's above all that! He's just taking his time to weigh all the factors. Never mind that virtually everyone on both sides of the aisle is in favor of the project, and please, forget about the fact that all but the looniest of environmentalists have admitted the pipeline poses no danger. President Obama must weigh all the issues in this very, very, complex situation. That's why he's simply been unable to make up his mind for over five years. Of course, we all know that this decision is 100%, entirely, political. Obama & the Dems need to appeal to their crackpot "green energy" base, and building an evil oil pipeline just prior to an election (in which they're already underdogs) is a good way to ensure that the radical global warming contingent stays home in November. Don't try suggesting that to Schultz though. She argues that none of this will matter because the Democrats are headed for a strong 2014 midterm showing. She claims that their Senatorial victory will follow the pattern that we saw in 2012, because apparently the last two years didn't happen. That attitude certainly worked out well in the recent Florida special election. That's great news for the left, but don't tell the folks over at MSNBC, because they're not entirely convinced.

MSNBC vs. NBC. FIGHT!
