Not buying a copy of Hard Choices is an easy choice.

Hillary's book is bombing so badly she'll need to blame it on a YouTube video

If you're reading this, Congratulations are in order. Heck. If you woke up this morning, feeling awake, alive, and breathing normally, congratulations are in order. You probably made it through another day without buying a copy of Hillary Clinton's new book Hard Choices. We can say that with certainty, since the vast, overwhelming, majority of readers, book buyers, and "people who are capable of buying things" made the same decision.
From the Weekly Standard:
In an email this evening, a veteran publishing source calls the latest Hillary Clinton book, Hard Choices, a memoir of her State Department years, a "bomb." The source is referring to the early but underwhelming sales figures. "Between us, they are nervous at S&S [Simon & Schuster]," says the source, who gave permission for his email to be published. "Sales were well below expectations and the media was a disaster."

According to this source, a Simon & Schuster insider, "They sold 60,000 hard covers first week and 24,000 ebooks." The publishing house was "hoping and praying for 150,000 print first week." "The 60k represents a less than 10% sell thru based on what they shipped," says the source.
Ouch. Hillary - who likes to say she was "dead broke" when she left the White House - was given a $14 million advance. Simon and Schuster will likely eat most of that, since the book has little or no chance of recouping it in sales. On the left, pundits are arguing that almost any writer would be thrilled to see 60,000 hardbacks move in a week. That's probably true. 60K is great for a normal, run of the mill, author. However, Hillary is not a normal author. Her advance is absolutely crazy for a publishing industry that is already in dire straits, but those in charge proabably figured it was a safe bet. After all, there are several things that set Ms. Clinton apart - all of which should have translated to better sales... "Almost any" author is not regularly referred to as the smartest woman in the world. "Almost any" author is not a key figure in a series of massive scandals involving a surprisingly still-popular ex-President. "Almost any" author is not already famous. Celebrity sells. You would expect that someone as well-known as Ms. Clinton would be of interest to more people. "Almost any" author does not get weeks and weeks of free publicity, hype, and advertising courtesy of the national news media. With the amount of airtime Hillary received, she should be doing much, much, better. "Almost any" author is not a former first lady, U.S. Senator, AND Secretary of State. Any one of those jobs should provide enough material for an interesting read. Hillary enjoys all three titles and it seems that no one cares. "Almost any" author is not the presumptive 2016 Democrat presidential candidate. Hillary's problem is that, because she's about to make a run at the White House, she's written a book that tries desperately to say nothing that could be used against her, while pretending to say something people will care about. She's failed in spectacular fashion. As a result, she published a work which even the far-left is mocking as "Boring Choices" and she backed it up with a book tour that has been nothing short of disastrous. We've heard Ms. Clinton's lies, tales, and excuses for more than 25 years. Is it any wonder that people are tuning out in droves?
