The carnage in Iraq continues in large part because of the campaign promise by Barack Obama to bring our soldiers home. A promise that was popular with war weary Americans.

The Iraq war cost Americans a lot of money and thousands of lives of beloved family members. Here is the problem: Had the people known that the pull out would, in effect, make those sacrifices be in vain, they might not have been so eager to rush the process. Obama defied his own advisors and the results have been catastrophic. We now have terrorists taking over large sections of Iraq. Christians are being targeted and trapped. Our abandoned military equipment is being used against the Kurds (our allies) and now the President is making half-hearted moves which experts agree are not going to work. His failure to take decisive action based on foreign affair and military advisors appears as providing cover for ISIS. And it is putting us in danger here at home. Mr. President, we are either in or we are out. Virginia Sparks Rotonda West, FL
