Westboro Baptist Church accepts challenge to go to Iraq, protest ISIS

Unless you're been living under the planet's largest rock, you're aware of the notorious Westboro Baptist Church. They're the scumbags who show up at soldiers' funerals to scream about how "God hates F*gs." In doing so, they've basically earned a reputation as America's most hated religious organization. Since they're always looking for a new way to sink even lower, they decided that the perfect place for their next ugly display of lunacy would be at the funeral of actor and comedian Robin Williams.
Word got out and Adam Hills - comedian and host of the UK's The Last Leg - responded with an offer. Since the Westboro Baptist Church is so concerned with "affronts" to their warped version of Christianity, he promised he'd send them to a place where Christians are really suffering. If they accepted, he'd personally buy every church member a first class ticket to Iraq so that they could protest ISIS. Here's his original offer - be warned, there's some saucy language here:

Last week, The Westboro Baptist Church actually accepted! We accepted! Whence tickets? @PhilCooke: An offer to fly WBC members 2 Iraq 2 protest. Sounds like good idea to me: http://t.co/97BEusEBxH — Westboro Baptist (@WBCSays) August 21, 2014 This, of course, thrilled virtually everyone. Not only would they be out of America's hair, signs like the ones below would probably guarantee that we'd never have to deal with their nonsense again. Unfortunately, church members hoping to make the trip are just as "out of luck" as Americans who'd like to see them go. As Metro reports, Hills announced on his Friday night show that he has decided to renege on the offer.
On last night"s show Hills informed viewers that since making the announcement he has been contacted by many people who say they will contribute money towards flying Westboro Baptist Church members to Iraq. However after a week of WBC attacks on Hills and abusive images directed at Muslims posted on Twitter, he opted to take the high road and decided instead to donate all the money raised for the flights to St Jude Children"s Research Hospital, a charity Robin Williams was a supporter of. The comedian said he wanted to ‘spread love instead of hate" through the donation, which was made in the name of the late actor.
That's a typically polite British way of saying that "Hills blinked" - probably due to the dozens of lawsuits that would follow the inevitable outcome of an ISIS/Westboro confrontation. So, sadly, we're stuck with the Westboro vermin for now. Today, they'll be making a typically evil appearance in Missouri at the funeral of Michael Brown - the 18-year old whose death sparked the Ferguson riots.
