...He's not really much better.

It's a lot of fun to watch McCain destroy Jay Carney on CNN, but...

Last night, after President Obama announced his totally new "strategy" of doing pretty much what he's already doing - namely striking ISIS via limited airstrikes - newly minted CNN analyst Jay Carney appeared with John McCain to discuss the speech.

Carney started spewing the same talking points he's become accustomed to espousing at the White House podium and he seemed to think that no one would challenge him. Apparently he's not used to appearing with people who actually talk back. ....Because John McCain used Carney's primetime CNN debut to rough him up something fierce. Here's the clip: Now, I'll admit; it's lots of fun to watch McCain beat Carney to a pulp. The video has gone viral and conservatives all across the internet are having lots of fun watching Carney get trounced. However, let's not go singing McCain's praises just yet. The Senator has a few problems. First of all, McCain wasn't terribly upset about the pullout when it was actually happening. He accuses Jay Carney of celebrating the fact that the final troops were pulling out of Iraq, but he himself used that occasion as a moment to trumpet George W. Bush's victory. Secondly, just last year, McCain and Lindsey Graham were eager to arm at least some of the very same people who are now regarded as extremists worthy of destruction. In fact, according to the Sotloff family spokesman, some of the very same "moderate Syrians" with whom McCain was so enamored actually sold Stephen Sotloff to ISIS terrorists at the Syrian border. So yes, it's delightful to see that - without a White House staff telling him what to say - Jay Carney can't hold his own. It looks like lying for a living is a lot easier when you can control the floor and stop people from who try to challenge you. ....But let's not start singing John McCain's praises just yet.
