Prime Minister Stephen Harper Doesn’t hide behind other names for Terrorism

South of our border, the current occupier of the White House calls jaw-dropping citizen slaughter by members of the so-called Religion of Peace “Workplace violence”. Canada’s Prime Minister Stephen Harper calls the attack on Parliament Hill that took the life of War Memorial Honour Guard Cpl. Nathan Cirillo exactly what it is: TERRORISM.
Terrorism is terrorism and no other name comes close to describing it. Those who call terrorism anything else, for reasons that include both cowardice and political expediency, are doing exactly the same thing the terrorists do: attempting to hide terrorist violence under phony names like ‘Religion of Peace’.
“Fellow Canadians, in the days to come, we will learn more about the terrorist and any accomplices he may have had,” Harper promised Canadians in a televised statement last night. “We will not be intimidated,” Prime Minister Harper continued. “Canada will never be intimidated. “In fact, this will lead us to strengthen our resolve and redouble our efforts and those of our national security agencies to take all necessary steps to identify and counter threats, and keep Canada safe here at home. “Just as it will lead us to strengthen our resolve and redouble our efforts to work with our allies around the world and fight against the terrorist organizations who brutalize those in other countries with the hope of bringing their savagery to our shores. “They will have no safe haven.

“While today has been, without question, a difficult day, I have every confidence that Canadians will pull together with the kind of firm solidarity that has seen our country through many challenges. “Together, we will remain vigilant against those at home or abroad who wish to harm us. “For now, Laureen, Ben, Rachel and I join all Canadians in praying for those touched by today’s attack. “May God bless them, and keep our land glorious and free.” In the unspeakable sadness evoked by the death of War Memorial Honour Guard Nathan Cirillo, Canadians can at least take pride in the assurance that their prime minister doesn’t hide behind other names conjured by politicians and terrorists alike for terrorism, but called it terrorism on his first public statement of this week’s events. Canadian Parliament is sometimes portrayed as insignificant by its detractors. Yet it was 58-year-old Sergeant at-Arms Kevin Vickers, in a ceremonial post, who, using his sidearm for the first time, dropped to the floor, shot off three rounds and took down a ravening terrorist. Some Canadians could not help but note how the taxpayer- subsidized Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) spent a lot of time last night asking where Harper had been during the day-long lock-down and what was taking him so long to make last night’s statement, the overseas Daily Mail had already unearthed the facts that matter: that young Cirillo is the father of a six-year-old little boy. From the millions who sincerely care what happened in Ottawa Parliament yesterday, Thank You Daily Mail!
