Sgro, Trudeau and the Liberal Party of Canada are just not ready for prime time

Liberal MP: Islamic State threats to Canada all Harper’s fault

Liberal MP Judy Sgro gave an interview to The Hill Times in which she gave her opinion as to why the Islamic State poses a threat to Canada. Seems it is all Prime Minister Stephen Harper’s fault.
Harper has stood out on the world stage for recognizing ISIS for what it is; Islamic (that’s right composed of Muslims) jihadis tasked with the mission of attacking the West including Canada because of our values and their desire to build a worldwide caliphate. The Liberal MP seems to think if Harper had only kept his mouth shut and didn’t express his desire to see the little poor dears killed, Canada would not be under any threat whatsoever. In the interview, Sgro said:
“We’ve got the Prime Minister of Canada standing in the House and saying we want you [the Canadian military] to kill them. I think he’s dragging us more and more into fights that we don’t need to be in. There’s only one reason, because he wants to instill fear in Canadians…That’s the only thing it’s about. He wants to have Canadians so afraid by the time the election comes that they’ll vote for them because they’re the only ones who will protect them. It’s all about building up and getting people frightened and fearful…ISIL, ISIL, ISIL, ISIL is coming here. If they’re coming here it is because he put us in that position.”
There you have it. Canada would be safe from Islamic State attacks if only the prime minister acted like that Obama fella and never used words such as “war,” “terrorist,” and “jihad,” Harper has recently come under fire from the opposition parties and the left after it was revealed Canadian soldiers who are assisting the Iraqis and the Peshmerga were fired upon by the Islamic State and had the colossal nerve to fire back in self-defence. To the terrorist sympathizers and Harper-haters, this constituted “combat” that the government promised not to engage in. Canada’s role is limited to air strikes and training the Iraqis and the Kurds. Canada’s Special Forces are on the ground at the front lines training these troops and assisting in air strikes. Liberals like Sgro would obviously prefer this training be carried out in some fancy resort in Canada

Sgro is not some rookie politician. She served as a member of Toronto city council and has been a federal MP since 2000. For a time she was a cabinet minister in the previous Liberal government. There are a variety of reasons why Sgro said what she said. Being a Liberal it could very well be she believes what she said. ISIS really isn’t that bad and they would not be making threats to Canada if only Steve hadn’t provoked him. This is the typical reaction of those who buy into the theory Islam as a religion of peace and believe all the killings of babies and children, beheadings and torturing is the fault of the West; it has absolutely nothing to do with Islam. It is also possible Sgro knows it’s not true; she is just trying to score political points in saying everything that is wrong in the world is because of Harper and his evil Conservatives. Last week Liberal leader Justin Trudeau visited Western Ontario where manufacturing jobs are fleeing the area. Trudeau blamed it all on Harper’s policies. Apparently the Liberal premier of Ontario, Kathleen Wynne, who has caused electricity prices to go through the roof because of her party’s green energy policy had absolutely nothing to do with businesses leaving the province. If this is the case, Sgro crossed the line. The two terrorist attacks on Canadian soil in October and the threat to carry out more on Canadian soil is too important to play these political games with. It shows Sgro, Trudeau and the Liberal Party of Canada are just not ready for prime time. Sgro also thinks Canadians are stupid. Whenever Harper talks tough about the Islamic State, he rises in the polls compared to the “Hair Apparent.” Contrary to what Sgro says, Harper’s popularity increases not because Canadians are scared little wusses but because people understand the true threat from the Islamic State and are happy to have a leader who treats the concept that a government’s first duty is to protect its citizens seriously. Sun News Network David Akin put Sgro’s comments to the Boy Wonder at a press conference. Trudeau’s answer was fairly tough considering the source, saying that he thinks ISIL represents a threat to global stability. He spoke in generalities but did not repudiate what Sgro said. He did not address whether or not he thinks the threat from the Islamic State is as a result of the prime minister’s statements. A real leader would not attribute the threats Canada faces to the prime minister. At best Trudeau thinks it’s no big deal; at worst he agrees with Sgro.
Sgro’s comments were disgusting as was Trudeau’s failure to repudiate them. To the Liberals, the deaths of two Canadian soldiers in the October terrorist attacks were all the fault of the prime minister. If Sgro and Trudeau really believe this they should tell that directly to the families of Warrant Officer Patrice Vincent and Cpl. Nathan Cirillo. They have a right to know why their loved ones died.
