Middle East: We see genocide, we see, human behavior that from the onlooker’s standpoint is abhorrent – horrific to any logical, illness free, healthy mind – soul

Iraqi minister reveals mass murder burial sites located

Whether we’re a believer or unbeliever or not, most of us would like to think that as human beings we all exist to improve our surroundings, enrich the lives of those around us, and together leave the world a better place than we found it.
Seeing horrible acts, and anguished people day in and day out for years now, one comes to the realization that, there is more to the struggle between believers and unbelievers - good and evil, there is something even greater, more fundamental, beneath everything we base our lives on, from our decision making, to whether or not we are going shopping this weekend. That which lies beneath everything we base our lives on, is subject to the fundamental failings of the human mind. Years ago my mother’s elder sister scolded – lectured me on the failings of human perception, her position was that everything we remember the very memories we base our day to day lives on, and function as human beings, are manufactured by our mind, or soul if you wish, and as a result is flawed. We use known historical facts from our past that were given to us by elders or others to shape and even change our memories, and then our mind creates a memory nexus that is a construct within our mind. And if our minds are flawed via mental illness or trauma, and or the promulgation of falsehoods over time, then our memories are too, and this critical perception failure bleeds into our conscious mind’s decision making, this critical failing of the human mind results in flawed perceptions of everything from good and evil to God or Atheism. After delving into the darker recesses of humanity for well over two decades, I think I now know what she meant.

When you look at the warring factions in the Middle East, North Africa and other hotspots around the world we see a good case for her theory being made. We see genocide, we see, human behavior that from the onlooker’s standpoint is abhorrent – horrific to any logical, illness free, healthy mind – soul. Yet it continues and will continue to exist long after most of us are gone. And lying beneath all of it, is the human mind – soul. There are those amongst us who think that humans are inherently bad and others who believe homo sapiens are good. But I believe the latter, that we as humans are inherently good. And I base my perception on the rock that is motherhood, a mother’s natural love for her child tells me that we humans are inherently good, or kind if you will. That a mother’s love imbues us with mental subroutines that are kind – good in our minds and our souls, it's inherent in the DNA we possess, it's what pushes us as a species over the top, we're good. So why all of the wars and murder, crime, avarice, mayhem, genocide and evil in the world today? Now many women would come out and say, well it's those men. But not so fast. I contend there are plenty of women who shape the monsters we see in action, in the world today. Their mental – social cultural misconceptions and infirmities shaping the minds and souls of humanity's masculine bad actors. While men due to physical and mental subroutines are more fertile grounds for acting out their illnesses, surprisingly women harbor similar mental and spiritual illness too. So what's the solution? Humanity's solution unquestionably lies in furtherance of freedom and liberties, for instance, the freedom to communicate as free thinkers without fear of retribution or oppression. The ability to live lives in a society that allows the atheist or believer to live alongside the secular or agnostic. A society that prizes the fundamental rights given to us by our creator to speak freely, to assemble peacefully and live life while respecting our fellow citizens rights, and at all times obey the laws of common human decency. In such a society, what we perceive as good will flourish. Because homo sapiens are inherently good. We are not saying the Islamic world as we know it today will be able to embrace liberties as we North Americans know them, what we are saying is that one day in the future, hopefully sooner than later, the peoples of Islamic nations will embrace a new awakening, where there will emerge a new secular movement that unlike the secular movement of the 7th century that failed, the new modern secular revolution will succeed. And with it will come new renaissances in which nations who were once fervently Islamic and oppressive, will now enjoy real freedom, liberty, peace and prosperity. However, unfortunately there will be much more hardship and horrors between now and the new wakening. And finally to those of us who are affected by these hardships and horrors, one can take heart that while many of us suffer misfortunes or are hurt by seeing others' hardships, remember this, what we perceive as good is winning, good is on the march. I know that is not much of a balm for the sufferers whose miseries continue unabated, but none the less, from humanity's long walk from the swamps to the stars, humanity’s good, will continue to prevail and grow.
