"History, despite its wrenching pain, cannot be unlived, but if faced with courage, need not be lived again." Maya Angelou.

There is the truth in one sentence. We will be forced to relive the mistakes of our past because rather than teaching them and talking about them, we are removing them from our history. We are not facing our past with courage. Taking certain events out of textbooks or rewriting them shows nothing but stupidity and does a disservice to our children who will not benefit from our mistakes. Shame on us for not taking the time and effort to learn what is happening in our schools and do something about it. Jean Arcamone
