Iran: Just to be clear, no one's going to be inspecting our military sites

How do we know that Iran will abide by the terms of the proposed agreement being worked out with the U.S. and other nations, specifically that it will not build nuclear weapons?

Why, because they agreed to it! And how will we know they are keeping their word? Why, inspections, silly! And how extensive will these inspections be? Very, we are assured by Barack Obama and John Kerry. Well that's a relief. Except . . . rogue nations who agree to such things have a tendency to resist the inspections once the agreement goes into effect. And if they really have no fear of their counterparts, they might even start trashing the inspection clauses before the deal is even signed. Like, say, now:
“No such agreement has been reached and basically, visiting military centers are among the red lines and no visit to these centers will be allowed,” Brigadier General Hossein Dehgan said, according to Iranian media reports quoting a Defense Ministry statement. Dehgan said international media reports to the effect that the deal will allow International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) experts to inspect military centers across Iran were “lies” and “deceits.” “The determination of the nuclear negotiating team of the Islamic Republic of Iran is so that it will not allow anything be imposed on the Iranian nation,” he added.
Does anyone seriously doubt what's going to happen here? No sooner will this deal go into effect than the Iranians will immediately begin elusive measures to evade the inspections, and we'll have endless hearings at the UN to try to determine what Iran is obligated to provide in terms of access, and when, and under what circumstances. And if the U.S. or anyone else wants to assert that Iran is in violation of the agreement, it's no slam dunk to just re-impose sanctions because all that does is start a lengthy and complicated process in which we have to prove they're not in compliance. How did we ever get in a position to negotiate such an absurd deal? Here's how: Obama desperately needed some sort of foreign policy "achievement" so he could claim a legacy, and he figured that if he gave up sanctions, real inspections and even the notion that Iran can't have the bomb, they would sign the deal. This is all about Obama's so-called legacy and not at all about nuclear non-proliferation. Even Obama admits the deal, even if implemented as he envisions, only delays the inevitable. And of course, it won't be implemented as Obama envisions because the Iranians will cheat and we won't do a damn thing about it. They've already announced it, and Obama and Kerry are going to go ahead and sign the deal anyway. So Neville Obama can wave a piece of paper and declare peace in our time. The Israelis had better be preparing their attack plans, because nothing and no one else is going to stop the mad mullahs from getting the bomb.
