Jimmy Carter says Obama's had 'minimal' global successes, bemoans diminished US prestige and respect

Jimmy Carter is a man who knows a thing or two about a Presidency that's free of international successes. His White House tenure is practically synonymous with foreign policy debacles. So, when he starts talking about Obama's failure as an international leader, he's speaking from experience.

Jimmy's pretty sure that Obama's tenure has been less than stellar in terms of our relationship with the rest of the world. In fact, he thinks the last six years have diminished our global influence, respect, and prestige:
"I can't think of many nations in the world where we have a better relationship now than we did when he took over. If you look at Russia, if you look at England, if you look at China, if you look at Egypt and so forth. I'm not saying it’s his fault, but we have not improved our relationship with individual countries, and I would say the United States influence and prestige and respect in the world is probably lower now than it was six or seven years ago."
Carter then goes on to pretend, once again, that none of this has anything to do with the man sitting in the oval office. Instead, the former worst President in U.S. history claims that the blame lies with nebulous "circumstances that have evolved." Who he thinks is handling those "circumstances" is anyone's guess. Carter also makes history in this interview by being the first person on Earth ever to claim that the robotic, droning, John Kerry is "dynamic." If that's his level of coherence, we should probably take everything else he says with a grain of salt. Still, if he's right that our stature has diminished since Obama took office, and Kerry's such a spectacular Secretary of State, who does Carter think is at fault? Hillary? Where, exactly, does he think the buck stops?
