Social issues are the key to either destroying or conserving our nation. Any effort in an attempt to preserve this great country will come to nothing if we do not get our moral house in order

Why Social Issues

Almost no one wants to talk social issues. The Tea Party, for all their good work, doesn’t want to bring up social issues. The political establishment avoids the conversation as they would a leper colony. Talk social issues in the GOP and you will get a call from Reince Priebus. Ask Donald Trump. People live in fear of being called racist, bigoted, homophobic, or just being perceived as mean. What few realize is that our form of government, our exceptionalism, if you will, our success, has its genesis in the biblical principles of hard work, self reliance, rule of law and a genuine goodness that comes from a firm belief that God rules in Heaven. “In God we trust,… One nation under God.” Deny it all you want, but our nation was founded and crafted on the Judeo-Christian ethic. Our Constitution, as John Adams said, “…was made only for a religious and moral people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.”
What is so fascinating and exceptional about this design is that everyone is welcome at the table. No one is exempted from participating because they don’t believe in God. Being a Christian is not a requirement for any secular job, whether in the government or the private sector. It sort of reminds me of Public Television; you’re asked to support it, but if you don’t, you still get to watch it. Great deal, right? A movie that I saw recently has the hero sneaking in the killer’s house to investigate the suspect’s activities. When the hero hears the arrival of the killer, he quickly leaves so as not to be discovered. But, while he is outside the house trying to slink away, the killer sees the hero and invites him in for a drink. The hero, instead of running for his life, turns around and reluctantly goes back in. A few minutes later, while our hero is hanging by a rope about to be filleted, the killer asks, “Why don’t people trust their instincts? You could have run away and yet you came back because I offered you a drink and your fear of offending was deeper than your fear of pain. It works every time.” The left knows this. They have taken issues such as gay marriage and abortion, removed them from the realm of morality and carefully placed them in the domain of civil rights. In a country that fought a civil war, suffered through decades of race issues and made remarkable gains, who now wants to deny anyone their “civil rights?” Become a victim in America and doors open to you. Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, both adherents to Saul Alinsky’s ‘Rules for Radicals’, agree in that morality and ethics prevent the world from being what “it should be.” It is no wonder that groups like ACORN, in a once symbiotic relationship with Obama, have been deeply involved in voter fraud.

The left depends on the goodness of the people to bring about fundamental change. They recognize that in order to make this change, they must first destroy America’s culture. After thousands of years, marriage has a new definition. The terms husband and wife are in the process of being eliminated in California. Polygamists are now suing municipalities for their right to plural marriage. Obama calls himself a Christian and yet has repeatedly supported infanticide by insisting that a child who survives the abortionist’s intent be put aside to die. Planned Parenthood is suspected of selling what they once termed “globs of goo” as viable body parts for profit. Children can decide to change their gender without their parents’ knowledge or permission. A gay man is suing Bible publishers to force the removal of anti-homosexual verses. Even five years ago, who would have thought we would be having these kinds of conversations? As Mother Theresa said “Can the end be far behind?” Social issues are the key to either destroying or conserving our nation. Any effort, any endeavor, any small achievement we may make in an attempt to preserve this great country will come to nothing if we do not get our moral house in order. When do we accept the calling of our instincts and act accordingly?
