Veterans taking tour thrilled as beloved commander in chief pops in for surprise visit

It looks like the Oval Office! But of course, it's the George W. Bush Presidential Center in Dallas. This is where a group of veterans were getting a tour on Veterans Day this morning when, much to their surprise, President Bush 43 himself popped and personally greeted the surprised and very pleased group.

I really don't need to say a lot about this, but I just want to remind you: For all the prattling from the left and their media mouthpieces about how Bush cavalierly put our fighting men and women in harm's way, the truth is that the vast majority of our troops and our veterans love Bush because they know that he always had their backs. Not only that, but when something did happen to those on active duty, Bush cared about it deeply, struggled with it and personally took responsibility. The weight of his decision to send our people into battle was always heavy on him. He took it seriously, and while he was confident he made the right calls, he never stopped feeling burdened by the reality of what happened to many who answered the call at his command. The troops also appreciated that Bush sent them on a mission he had every intention of winning. Things didn't always go according to plan, but Bush was not the type to send our people on a half-hearted effort that he didn't even really believe in - like Barack Obama has done constantly in places like Iraq, Syria and Libya. So it's no surprise that Bush was received so well by this group of veterans this morning. He is no longer their commander in chief in a legal sense, so they're under no obligation to afford him that respect. But you can see that they still feel that way about him, and he about them. Too bad the current occupant of the White House doesn't enjoy that type of respect from the current members of the service. But then, he doesn't deserve to.
