But when it comes to Donald Trump, I constantly get asked by a lot of people when I'm traveling, dining out, or even at church, questions that I answer frequently on the radio show.
First, can Trump win? Yes, and here's why:
Trump can win the Republican nomination and the presidency because he is attracting a lot of non-traditional and non-establishment voters. Political pundits continue to wonder if these voters will show up at the polls and vote. I don't wonder, because I have witnessed first-hand their enthusiasm at two of his rallies.
Granted, Trump is not the darling of the Republican establishment. But just as you play a game in sports to see who wins, the voters will decide. Remember how the Atlanta Falcons upset the undefeated and favored Carolina Panthers recently. Let the process play out.
And, if you would like to know why many conservatives are supporting Trump, I invite you to read my commentary from last week. It's not rocket science! People are tired of stuff not getting fixed in our federal government with the establishment in charge.
The second question I'm often asked is would I be nervous if Trump actually became president. Nervous about what? No. I'm more nervous about the damage the current administration can do in the next 12 months and 16 days!
I have known DJT for over five years, and I have talked to him directly on several occasions. I have also interviewed someone who had worked for DJT directly, and I asked him about Trump's management style. That someone is a friend I highly respect. He confirmed that DJT is the type of leader who listens to his trusted advisors, makes a decision and then executes.
People don't see this aspect of his leadership style through the spoon-fed lens of the media. They want people to be nervous if he becomes president, so they will not only refuse to support him, but stay home and not vote at all. People staying home and allowing the uninformed to elect the next president also makes me more nervous than Trump becoming president.
Another comment I got recently from someone was that he is not a serious candidate. He's just running so Hillary can win. That's bull feathers!
Think about that for a moment. He's spending his own money to run. It's a grueling endeavor. And he does not need the notoriety. He was already a household name before he ran for president, and now he's even more so.
The media and some of his opponents are spoon-feeding those perceptions of Donald Trump to the public to create a negative perception of him, so people would vote for somebody else. If you are going to vote for somebody else, just don't do it based on what the media tries to tell you.
When Jeb Bush proclaimed in a debate that Trump is a chaos candidate who would be a chaos president, a caller to my radio show responded that maybe we need some chaos in the White House – for the people!
I don't know everything about Donald Trump, but I do know he's serious about becoming president to put this nation back on the right track. And no, I don't agree with everything he says or the way he says it. But a lot of people see more positives in him than negatives. That's not an endorsement, it's just setting the record straight.
The Democrats and the liberal media are counting on voters to be gullible enough to swallow their selective crap about Donald Trump and other Republican presidential candidates, so another non-leader, non-fighter, and non-problem solver – Hillary Clinton – can get elected.
Don't be fooled!
This nation can't afford more of the status quo in the White House.
We know we have a sluggish economy. We know we have a messed-up tax code. We know we have a national debt crisis. We know ObamaCare is a disaster. We know we are at war against radical Islamic terrorists. We know we have a foggy foreign policy. And we know the United States of America can do better.
Electing people where we know, supposedly, all of their political stances has not worked too well for the last 50 years.
Maybe it's time to try someone different.
