Follow the leader

In the Book of Genesis, there’s a story of the ancient people coming together after the Great Flood. They assembled in the Land of Shinar. They were the direct descendants of Noah. They spoke one language. But they were corrupt in God’s eyes. They decided to build a great tower allowing them ascension to heaven without needing to follow God’s law.

Potential

Each year, at Christmas, I find myself disappointed in what I see going on in the world. We’re still sending our young people into other nations with the hope we’ll win the hearts and minds of the indigenous culture at muzzle point. People from those nations send their young and sadly misinformed to our (and other) lands to force conversion of a different culture. They want to raise an awareness of their God’s mercy from the ashes and rubble of bombed out buildings and using, as a foundation, the graves of those killed to create converts.

Just thinkin’

Whenever I think about Christmas I find myself trying desperately, eyes crushed shut, while fighting to remember how it was when I was a child. The anticipation pushed me through snow and past slush. Expectation and hope for the one present I wanted Santa Claus to place beneath the tree propelled me. I try remembering the wonder of drifted snow awakened to after being cuddled downward into my blankets like a Snowshoe Rabbit. I try remembering my excitement as my feet hit the floor, working feverishly to gain traction as my sleeper encased feet slid on the bare hardwood floor leading to the magical Christmas tree.

Pruning the poisoned tree

In law there’s a metaphor referred to as “fruit of the poisoned tree”. It describes evidence gathered from information obtained illegally. The logic is that if the source of the evidence (the "tree") is tainted, then anything gained from it (the "fruit") is also tainted

The Poison Tree

The United States is a sovereign, autonomous and free nation. We accept NO outside law or legal system as above or beyond our own. Knowing this we can’t set aside our law because ANY leader finds it disadvantageous to enforce the law. This is his responsibility. ALL men are equal in holding human rights. But, nowhere does it say that they’re entitled to coverage by the Bill of Rights as Americans.

Chasing power

When do we develop boundaries? When do we, as individuals, determine where we place those lines differentiating ourselves from all others? Should the lines be bold and hard making them virtually inviolable because we said:”this is where I drew the line-I can’t cross it”?

Enforcing accountability

Everything is gray. One part of me wants to skin the Wiki Leaks publisher for cyber-publishing stolen privileged information. It was taken to embarrass the people enacting the play we’re enduring now. The other part wants to congratulate him for his expose’ of the liars initiating the offensive actions. These people claimed allegiances to honesty, integrity and transparency while steadily moving the mirrors behind the smoke they’re regularly blowing upward under our kilts. All politicians do it.

Tipping point

Eugene Robinson and his friends at times have the ability to look beyond a problem and into the recesses of their own shadowed perceptions. They do this solely to prove their opinions have weight and the solemnity of their prose is indicative of their drive to get you to see it their way. in othe3r words: when all else fails and logic proves evasive in its ability to nurture the development of an argument, pull out the race card. It’s a tried and true way to win the point. Nobody can argue against it without being immediately stained by the inference.

Sustainable Development?

Land Plan 2020 – Sustainable Development was discussed on Tuesday, October 26th. The presentation was concise and intelligent. It maintained its appeal to an aged mind such as mine. I sometimes work in first gear when everybody else is running full-tilt for the finish line. It works for me because I can examine more of the sides of this shiny bauble dangled before my eyes. The United Nations started all of this in the ‘80s.

By whatever name

Some time back I was privileged to speak before some people exploring the concept of joining a Tea Party Group. One of the attendees, a gentleman of personal courage, integrity and a Marine Corps veteran said he thought there was an automatic prejudice against the name “Tea Party”. Consequently, many people seemed to develop a negative opinion concerning the composition and motives of the constituents of such groups. At the time the Liberal Left was defining the Tea Party groups as inhabited, directed and composed singularly by “old, white guys”, a group I can’t claim membership in because I’m Native American. But please note: I AM AN AMERICAN.

The hook, the line and the stinker

In days of old, when knights were bold, lords and ladies by kings were selected But elected now, they think themselves beyond all laws and exempted.-- A modern madrigal Entitlement’s a strange thing. It’s got no weight, no texture. It carries no color or racial classification. It follows no recognizable class or caste order. Entitlement is only defined by the depth and thickness of its primary constituent element: greed.

Political Periodic Table

Many people foment discord with their observation skills pertaining to government. I admire them for that. My dimly lit brain was illuminated concerning the "wasteful spending", the "created" positions and the need for a cessation of "creating" new ones as it pertains to my government. These people do their homework so I'd like to know better what's going on.

A Government of Laws By

Illegal adj: 1.) prohibited by law 2.) prohibited by official rules. The United States is a great country. The recognition of this is without question. Only here are all men believed to be created as equals. India, as well as England, has a caste (class) structure defining an individual’s place in society and public life. He is almost assured to never be able to step beyond the position he /she was born to in some people’s eyes.

A Sterile Cry

I decided to take a week off. It was a necessity to recharge my batteries, so to speak. Writing a column of this nature isn’t a strain by any means. The dangers and elements of unsafe nature in my old career (law enforcement) and the difficulties and dangers of your workday make my life seem pale in comparison. But there’s an incredible thing comes about when your world changes drastically as it does when you retire from one career and move into another.

The Games

Politics is reminiscent of the Roman Games. The games are held to appease the people. People are led to opulent settings and led to believe they’re a part of the production. The people get the peanuts and the chance to gaze upon the face of Caesar as he feasts on gourmet meals and the finest wine. The people get grape juice, but it’s free.

Aural astigmatism

Believe none of what you hear and only half of what you see. Ben Franklin Astigmatism is a defect in the eye. It’s caused by a defective cornea focusing light incorrectly on the retina. Our vision could be 20/20 but the brain’s visual centers get a blurred image.

Malfeasance

Politicians thinking themselves superior to those putting them where they are is nothing new. Throughout man’s history we’ve seen a ruling class subjugate a populace based on greater resources to buy, rent, borrow or otherwise maintain a force held over the subjugates’ heads. This always kept the herd in queue while walking dully toward the slaughterhouse. Since the birth of the Progressive Movement, America’s been sliding toward its own form of Socialism.

Genesis

The question’s been raised by some of my radical acquaintances: Can Obama be impeached for going against the wishes of the people of the United States? The short answer is: No.

Freedom of what…?

The First Amendment of the Constitution of the United States is sacrosanct. This truth is beyond self-evident. We hold it as immutable and undeniable. But, whose truth are we talking about here?
