Many people feel that Obama won the third debate last night. However, they were only watching and listening to him for part of an hour and a half. They did not see his record rolling around behind his head like a bubble in a cartoon. In drama they call it the understory. It is what surrounds the plot or the debate. It’s never what Obama does in the putative future but what he did in the apparent past that matters. His deeds and his speeches don’t match. Tomorrow is Obama’s excuse; yesterday is his witness.
I don’t really care what Obama says. It’s what he does or did. His deeds, indeed. Not his speeches. We are sixteen trillion dollars in debt, have been downgraded by S&P, have had unemployment at around 8 percent for Obama’s whole term, have 46.2 million people on food stamps, 23 million people below the poverty line, our gas prices are hovering around 4 dollars a gallon whereas they were 1.80 when Obama took over, inflation is rearing its ugly head; Obama is on the verge of making a flexible relationship with Putin on ballistic missiles as evidenced on his microphone accident, he also signed START with Russia limiting our strategic warheads. Last year he scrapped Bush’s missile defense plan. He is about to reduce our navy to the level of 1919, and all our armed forces across the board due to sequestration, which he says was the fault of congress but was really the fault of his inability to negotiate across party lines.
All this while the Middle East is burning and Israel doesn’t even know if we are their ally. Obama went to Cairo to befriend the Moslems. Now they are burning his picture in the streets.
It’s ironic that Republican Romney managed to get things done in blue Massachusetts whereas Obama could accomplish little when he controlled both house and the senate. Let’s face it, Obama just doesn’t work well with the opposition. He snaps, snarls and withdraws like he does at a debate.
Last night was supposed to be a debate about foreign policy. But you have no foreign policy without well-oiled domestic economics. Reagan could not have ended the Cold War if he hadn’t outspent Russia on weapons until the point that Russia couldn’t complete and had to tear down that wall. Reagan was not a nouveau riche spendthrift in the White House. He was a movie star, unlike Obama who is just a wannabe, hang-around groupie. Obama has a gun up against our heads; it is the backfired economy.
An Obama silliness: he is against enhanced interrogation even though it got us the information from Khalid Sheik Mohammad for Obama to kill Osama bin Laden and for Obama to joyously spike his football. He thinks that was brave? He wasn’t even on the field. What could have gone wrong? Big deal. He’s taken more chances on his ridiculous flip flopped support of same sex marriage and insisting the Catholic Church provides contraception through their insurance companies.
Spike the football? Obama should sit on a spare one and like a mascot bring the real soldiers water when they are on the sidelines.
We might as well travel to Greece and get used to Roditys wine. We will be drinking and having riots in our streets. We will be hitting each other with our Tambouradis. Our nanny state’s teats will turn to evil milk like Lady Macbeth’s.
The other year when the OWS crowd marched up town I thought it would come to revolution. How do you respond to a crowd run wild by Obama’s sanctioning, by our President who approves of angry demonstrations? Obama doesn’t even know that he is the administration. That he should defend it from mindless protestors.
What did Obama say again at the third debate? It doesn’t matter. He is what he is. He is not Presidential.
