Would your boss give you a raise if he rated your performance at 90% unacceptable?

Getting raises for doing a terrible job? Only in the U.S. Congress

Ahead of the budget vote on New Year's Day and without being asked, the President gave Congress and Federal employees a 5% pay raise via Executive order.

We only get a 1.7 % increase in Social Security. Where is the righteous indignation? This is not okay. This is an insult to the American public. A few Senators had the good grace to be embarrassed and call for repeal of the raise. Ultimately, the House blocked the order. The raise probably wasn't enough to purchase any support but it follows his big government agenda. Most of the turkeys in DC have terrible job reviews by their bosses - you and me. They don't deserve a reward for a job well done because it wasn't. Congressional approval is around 10% and yet they keep their jobs. What fools we are. Ask yourself, would your boss give you a raise if he rated your performance at 90% unacceptable? The spending by this administration is out of control and our leaders are not addressing the problem nor will they until we, the people, force the issue. Dick Doonan Rotonda West, FL
